notes
All the way from Bloomington, Illinois Gary grew up pretty much in a musical family. 1 of 12 children in a home that was always lively with the sound of good music, Gary could not help but be influenced.” We were always performing and singing for our parents guests and friends coming up, that’s what I remember most” I may have been the only one that wanted to play an instrument. After listening to my Fathers records, Wes Montgomery, Jazz Crusaders, Jimmy Smith, George Benson and so many others, I knew I wanted to play either bass or drums. So I settled on lead guitar.(smile)
With no formal training He played in a variety of bands ranging from pop all the way to straight-ahead Jazz groups. Smooth Jazz is where I feel most at home because it’s sophisticated and unlimited even though I like other things. Sit back ,and enjoy Bean Soup Days. It was written at a very significant time in my life. I am very grateful to Almighty God for His many blessings and gifts especialy The gifts of life and music. Love, Peace and blessings, Gary Muhammad
