Katie Garibaldi’s latest release, Fallen Angel, is the artist’s fifth full-length album. Although the name “Fallen Angel” may have a dark connotation, the album is in fact a bright collection of 14 original songs and carries an ongoing theme of unconditional love. Katie explores feelings of devotion and freedom in a relationship with straight-to-the-heart lyrics and winning melodies.
Fallen Angel differs from Katie’s previous albums, still containing well-written and thoughtful lyrics and technique, but noticeably showing the artist’s evolvement in songwriting and musical development. The sound is distinctively acoustic, with a rockabilly-pop flavor, well represented in each song. The album features Katie with her trio and also stays true to Katie as a solo artist, providing the listener with two ‘bandless’ tracks—one of which Katie plays keyboard on. Fallen Angel is full of lovely dynamics, taking the listener on a ride from surprising bridges, to unpredictable pauses in songs, to brushes on the drums. Even Katie’s soulful voice is dynamic—from delightful wispy tones to soaring vibrato.
Fallen Angel is sure to gain quite a buzz with such songs as “Always, Every Time” (an uplifting song about escaping to a better place), “A Love Without Chains” (a funky and rocky tune about feeling free with a new love), and the title track, “Fallen Angel,” (featuring Katie’s acoustic finger-picking technique and slide guitar).

New sound which is clean and smart.
author: Trevor WoodsI could tell that I would like this music from the opening of the first tune. After it's completion I was right. It's a new sound that will have the listener singing the lyrics out loud. Excellent!
