notes
Hailing from Orlando, this high profile band continues to receive region-wide acceptance. They have won awards from JAM magazine, and the Orlando Weekly's "Orlando Music Awards" (the Hard Edge category should almost be renamed the Gargamel! award). Drawing on many musical influences - Rock, Rap, Jazz, Funk, and even Reggae - these seasoned musicians provide a sound and live show that both entertains and mystifies. Gargamel!'s sophomore CD, "touch my fun", contains 12 fine examples of their ability to blend aggression, melody, and dark humor. The guitars wail, the vocals shred, the keys/samples soar, the bass plunders, and the drums keep it all under control.

great cd
author: sixteenvolt420this is an awesome cd. songs are different from each other, but not too much. fans of bands like dog fashion disco and tub ring will love this cd.
It's great to hear something different.
author: teebagThis CD is great from the beginning all the way to the end. Doesn't matter what mood your in, pop this CD in and enjoy. Very original and far from boring. I think one of the best things about this band is mood changes in their music, going from mellow and serious, to funny and heavy. Definetley in my top 10 list of favorite albums.
Another masterpiece from the masters of weird
author: Dylan from Orlando, FLGargamel's sophomore release, 'Touch My Fun,' further mines the "we-don't-give-a-shit-about-current-metal-trends" territory -- in that you never once hear them conforming in full to the guidelines of what's considered traditional song structure. Indeed, this collection of songs is another middle finger flying high in the faces of those (jaded media folk) who like to classify and pigeonhole bands. This release is of the same experimental/envelope-pushing high caliber as that of metal masterpieces like Faith No More's 'Angel Dust' and Tool's 'Lateralus.' Yet, despite all the crazyness going on in the sound department, the songs never seem to wander off into the unlistenable. They always stay grounded in that way.
TOUCH MY FUN nominated for cd of the year by orlando weekly
author: Orlando WeeklyBombast rules in Gargamel!'s twisted alchemy - a sort of heavy imaging crushed in between the knockout prowl of the band's rhythmic press and the heady syncopations of Mandaddy's lyrical manipulations. But it's not that simple, really. Buoying the experience is a sly sense of humor that finds experimental noodlings and sonic whirligigs spinning naturally from an often predatory rock prowl. TOUCH MY FUN takes the best features of Gargamel!'s theatrical live chops and cleans them up into a viable - sometimes schizophrenic - mass-appeal affair. "Please, please, it's just my honesty/ The one thing that's uglier than me," offers Mandaddy on "Perfect Idiot", reprising a theme running through the CD: self-actualization, presumably against everyone else. Occasionally it all blows up into full death-metal salute, as on "Spacepants", an almost indecipherable blow of aggro flagellation. Even then, though, a sense of ragga-dub pops up for texture. Gargamel! is not here to be nailed down, after all. They're here to be seen and heard. (BM)
