"While some music fans might not consider themselves fans of "folk," they still bow at the alters of Jeff Tweedy, Andrew Bird and Jolie Holland. And now you can add Isakov to that list." - Denver Post

Just saw him open for Kelly Joe Phelps at Joe's Pub in NYC, and his voice and melodies are like a transporter beam back to the prairies and the mountains for me. Makes you want to take a long roadtrip somewhere - take a look at the land in a whole new way. An exciting find.

This album is fantastic and beautiful, all the way through. I cannot stop listening, and am already ordering the album for friends. Well done.

  • Refreshingly familiar, yet different.. in a good way.

I bought the album after having heard The Stable Song on the air a few times, and loving it every time. It is not an accurate representation of what can otherwise be described as semi-experimental folk, with an alt-country influence. Great album. Slow enough to regulate the blood pressure, yet interesting enough to keep me from hitting the "eject" button for well over a week. Kudos.

Gregory, you make with this cd,once again,a great musical present for the world. It came right from the heart and that's the way how music must be made.I like so much the lyrics and the way you put them in a,oh God,so beautiful and clear river of acoustic sounds.Your musical heroes will be proud of you. Thanks for all that good feelings "that sea,the gambler" gives to me,I like it so much.Good luck and when do you come to Belgium? • Makes me remember my first Ramblin' Jack album. It is perfect.

I am so thrilled to have this remarkable CD in my player as I drive out to the FalconRidge Folk Festival where I first saw Gregory in the New Artists Showcase - was it just a year ago? I was blown away then and continue to be with this CD. There is a purity and soulfulness in this CD which locks his work in with the true folk artists of the past 40 years. Makes me remember early Tom Rush, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, even Jesse Colin Young's Soul of a City Boy. This CD has an honesty and rawness that is kept simple through Gregory's unadorned love of music and lyrics that start in his gut and are quietly put into our ears, brain, heart. Very nice work Gregory!

A beautiful selection of tenderly written acoustic songs. A wonderful voice accompanied by simple and pleasing guitars, banjo, strings and drums. This is my first album from this incredible artist. So impressed am I, I just ordered Rust Colored Stones and Songs for October, as well. Thanks Gregory. Trudy
