Gail Muldrow -- the rock ST*R with funk & soul!
author: Dr. Brookenstein1. YOUR LOVE WON'T GO (***) - a R&B tune with a searing lead guitar solo in the middle. 2. HATE (*****) - hardcore rock with revving guitars throughout. Gail's voice is strong....sometimes sounding like P-Funk/Brides vocalist Sheila Horne when she goes for the higher notes. 3. STRANGER THINGS (****) - beautiful arranged piano-driven trakc about dealing with trials &tribulations of life. 4. WHERE U GET YO FUNK FROM? (*****) - title borrowed from the chorus of the P-Funk song "Funkentelechy". Vocals in vocoder form, along with some good funky bass and drum riffs. Horns are good, too. 5. IT'S HARD (***) - R&B tune that's pretty good. 6. SECRET LOVE (****) - beautiful singing voice is found in this synthesizer/guitar-driven ballad. 7. BITCH MOMMY BITCH (****) - rock tune about a dysfunctional mother. Lead guitar solo is smokin'. 8. A MAN LIKE YOU (****) - blues tune with good blues guitar. Interesting enough, some of the music resembles The Beatles's "I Want You (She's So Heavy)". 9. NIGHTMARES (***) - starts off with hard funk-rock energy, then turns into a much softer rock song. 10. MOJO BLUES (****) - good ol' Southern blues....standout piano performances, blues guitar wails are too funky! TOO SHORT A TRACK, THOUGH! 11. RIBBONS &BOWS (***) - folksy rock track with some country guitar strokin'. 12. BOOTZ (****) - hard rock tune about a man's infidelity to her. Great lead guitar riffs!

Beautiful vocals and lovely guitar, especially on You Love Won't Go, Secret Love & Hate Me. Looking forward for more of the same. It's a shame that the CD sleeve is no longer available. I think that Gail Muldrow is is one of the finest singers and entertainers anywhere in the world. I have had the honor of performing with her all over the USA and Europe. When she plays her guitar of harmonica, she is right in "the pocket'. when she sings, it will make the hair stand up on your arm. all i have to say is "Papa J Loves Gail" Jerry Martini "Sly And The family Stone"
Superb! A true artist.

Soulful Funky Blues Rock Diva shines on for all the world to hear!
author: Harry Gale - Route 44 StudioGail Muldrow shows a broad range of styles laden with Funk, Soul, Rock, R&B, and even some Heavy Metal thrown in for good measure. From the Mommy Dearest echoes of the punk/funk non-apologetic "Bitch Mommy Bitch", to a smashing cover of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made for Walkin'" through the Pop Melodies of "Your Love Wont Go", to the ever suggestive double entendre of "It's Hard" and on through to the sulky dank and dusty "Mojo (Ghetto) Blues" and throughout the rest of the album, Gail shows she knows "Where she got her funk from".....do you? If Not - Best check this underground experience now while supplies last!!
