Blend of sophisticated folk/singer-songwriter. If The Mamas and the Papas were fronted by David Byrne, they'd be Sons of the Never Wrong.

notes
Gadfly Records is proud to announce the release of "Nuthatch Suite," a new album of clever and insightful originals, performed with verve and style from this stunning Chicago trio of quirky songwriters and harmonists. Described as “somewhere between John Prine and the Roches” and “a kind of Twin Peaks version of Peter, Paul and Mary” the Sons have truly forged new territory. Take a trip with them...you’ll have a blast!
Blending the best vocal elements of groups like the Mamas and the Papas and the Roches with a lyrical sophistication of Talking Heads, "the Sons" (Bruce Roper, Sue Demel, and Deborah Lader) are lively performers who hit their intricate harmonies as well on stage as in the studio. With Nuthatch Suite, "the Sons" have created an original, exciting musical tapestry that gives fans a unique listening experience.
"Somewhere between John Prine & the Roches...
pulling folk music into the next century by the heart and the funny bone."
-- Performing Songwriter
"I see it all, and Sons is as good as it gets. They're burnin' inventive, bright, and original."
-- Livingston Taylor
"...catchy hooks and clever verses. An exuberant, optimistic approach to music-making."
-- Chicago Tribune

Had to get this CD after hearing "Standin' in the Dust" somewhere!
author: MarkCan't remember where or how I stumbled on "Standin' in the Dust" but couldn't shake it from my head. I finally broke down and got this great CD from the awesome folk at CD Baby. The CD is a joy. Each track is a surprising explosion of melody, harmony, clever lyrics and impossible instrumentation. I hope they visit SW Ohio sometime soon.
