notes
This album finds the Chicago trio centering in on their explosive dance-rock sound that has captured audiences nationwide. GEARS is an eleven track album of indie-rock compositions intertwined within other-worldly keyboard riffs, bombastic drumming and driving basslines.
Energetic, blissful, entertaining, grooving – those are descriptors that have been used time and time again when describing Future Rock both in the studio and onstage. GEARS continues to move forward with the momentum created with the band’s 2006 self-released debut Sugar Coated Bullets.
Future Rock is a modern band creating music in settings normally reserved for the DJ-influenced audience. Gears satisfies the appetite of that audience with the danceable title track “Gears”, the deep pocket groove of “Torture” and “Luna,” the break-beat cross-up “God Nose,” the driving pulse of “Rock Kit” and “Die Jung Ein” in addition to the other great tracks on this upcoming release. Future Rock definitely pays homage to their influences such as Aphex Twin and Daft Punk while propelling forward with their own modern flair for musicianship and technology on GEARS.
