notes
FUBAR'S musical philosophy derives from a marriage of eclecticism and electricity.
FUBAR consists of Ann Arbor's finest, oddest, brokest, ornery-est musicians and former insurance adjusters: Sophia Hanifi (vocals), Randy Tessier (guitars, vocals), Andy Adamson (keyboards, vocals), Dave Cavender (harmonica, trumpet), Oni (bass), Jim Carey (drums, percussion).
Electricity. Its "electricity" arises out of an emphasis on combining genre bending obscure cover songs with carefully scrutinized original compositions.
Michael Betzold of the Ann Arbor Observer writes, " Seing FUBAR is like sitting in on a jam session among discerning pop-rock veterans. They play with energy and skill that would be the envy of far-better-known bands, with an enthusiasm that comes from playing the stuff they want to play apart from some highly compelling original material, many of their numbers are covers, but not the standards that oldies stations have played to death...the band's talent and verve restores the heart and soul and unrepentant energy that rock used to have before it was highjacked by self-obsessed ironists. "
