notes
From out of the sky, and into your head
circling sounds awaken the
dream that sleeps in your bed
do you despise the careful life
is the hard way the way you'd like?
This could be rock.
Sometimes I needed anyone
except the same one
and no one was going to tell me otherwise
but everyone does anyhow.
But words aren't spoken, they're thrown
first ones see the light of dawn
and we won't care
if nobody cares what we were wondering

The winsome love child of Brian Wilson and Lindsey Buckingham
author: honey wheelerThe best kind of music is the kind you can get lost in and From Out of the Sky provide just that kind of blissful labyrinthe. Rich harmonies and hooks as big as the sky abound. This is the winsome love child of Brian Wilson and Lindsey Buckingham and that final track could be from the best film Wes Anderson never made.
Great Album!

Local Band Emerges From Out of the Sky
author: Paul Zimmerman First Coast NewsLocal musician Chris Estes has been playing some of the best music in Jacksonville for nearly three years. His first band, the Quiet Ninja’s, were an excellent indie pop outfit that released two fantastic records several years ago. As if that were not enough Chris would do the occasional acoustic gig at the old Imperial and would play a host of covers that hinged on being better than the originals! His versions of Magnetic Field’s songs would make Stephen Merritt jealous. As of late, Chris has not only been perfecting studio techniques during his day job, but ha also been putting together another fantastic band, From Out of the Sky. The four piece band is a brilliant combination of folk, west coast pop, strings, indie rock, and a lot of heart. If the band’s self released debut is any indication of what this band is capable of watch out. From Out of the Sky is among the most genuinely enjoyable records I’ve heard this year. Every song on From Out of the Sky bristles with a purity and honesty that is so rare these days. From the album’s opener and statement of intent, “Wake Up,” through the distorted sun drenched multi-harmonics of, “MBV,” to the final note of “Light of Dawn,” one can’t help but think From Out of the Sky are on to something much bigger than the confines of Jacksonville. From Out of the Sky possesses all the elements that make bands like the Shins, the Beach Boys, and My Bloody Valentine brilliant. Brian Wilson-ish harmonies check. Quirky catchy folktronica beats, check! Brilliantly written heart felt songs that tug at your soul, check. From Out of the Sky is a first class effort that while looking back clearly has its eyes set on moving things forward!
