notes
Michael Freeman grew up in Compton, California. While attending Georgia Tech in Atlanta, he recommitted his life to the Lord and God called him to urban ministry. This led to his return to Los Angeles where he joined World Impact. Michael and his wife, Glynette, worked as urban missionaries with World Impact for 23 years, ministering to urban youth and adults in South Central Los Angeles, Watts and Chester, Pennsylvania.
Recently, Michael co-founded Elevate Your G.A.M.E., an urban ministry organization that conducts mentoring programs for youth in urban schools and communities. Elevate Your G.A.M.E. is mentoring youth at Compton High School, Walton Middle School (in Compton), Northpointe Apartments (in Long Beach) and Harbor Prep Academy (in the L.A. Unified School District).
Elevate Your G.A.M.E. (www.elevateyourgame.org) is lifting urban youth to a higher level in their Grades, Attendance and Maturity to Empower them to be leaders.
God’s call on Michael’s life is to mobilize, train and equip the people of God to disciple residents of urban communities to empower them to be Christian leaders.
Quote for the Week: "Programs don't change children - relationships do." (Bill Miliken, founder of Communities in Schools)
