As the title alludes, this is a collection of original piano pieces depicting calm scenes and quiet moods, with a few expanding aggressively into wider scopes. These works incorporate elements of the dance, the song form, and free-form improvisation.

notes
Frederick Isaac is a Michigan-based pianist and composer (ASCAP). He has been a working musician for nearly two decades, starting out as a professional drummer while still in his teens. While pursuing his academic musical training, Frederick began to develop his own voice, taking in influences from both the classical styles and jazz idioms. The eventual result was the development of a unique and expressive tone palette which offers structure, imagination, and a strong melodic content.
Frederick's experience ranges from being a keyboardist for rock legend
Ben E. King to accompanying for the famed Joffrey Ballet of New York. He also "gigged"as a jazz and salsa pianist, further demonstrating a well-rounded eclecticism. In more recent years, Frederick has been involved in accompanying/directing for professional music theater and writing/directing music for small chamber ensembles and church ministries, as well as being a college professor.

Outstanding Instrumental Piano CD
author: Xavier and the RadioIndy Team“The Beautiful and the Improbable” by musical veteran Frederick Isaac is a stylish assembly of contemporary classical compositions. These piano compositions are filled with emotional expressiveness and contain a well-appreciated element of free-spiritedness. “Song-Etude” is one stand-out composition that demonstrates all these qualities, shedding light on just how experienced and talented Frederick is. “Of Ice and Wind” steers away from the usual song structure and vibe with its spaced out notes and overall atmosphere of mystic suspense. This classical collection is professionally produced, skillfully composed, and unusually satisfying to the ears.
Compositions very impressive
author: Kierstin B.While I would not classify this music as completely classical, nor would I classify it as jazz. I would simply classify it as pure emotion. Like a rendering where a structured classical sound melds into a more refreshing modern one.
Frederick, My Teacher!
author: Benjamin BoardmanFred is my Music Theory teacher. Out of curiosity after hearing him played, asked if he had any CDs out, he told the class he did where to listen to it. i have fallen in love with his music. he is THE best pianist i have heard. He is a very talented teacher and pianist, showing his personality show. His music is an inspiration to my class and is well worth the interest to check out.
