"A t-shirt and jeans blend of pop, rock, soul and honesty"

notes

Collectively described as a “t-shirt and jeans blend of pop, rock, soul, and honesty,” the members of The Freddie Long Band (affectionately known as "The FLB") hardly knew each other when they first starting playing together a little less than a year and a half ago. After 100+ shows together throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, the group members now consider themselves a band of brothers after the release their first album together, entitled "Strangers and Friends." The album is a collection of 12 original songs and one bonus track ranging from upbeat, high-energy pop/rock to yearning acoustic ballads and includes many fan favorites from the band's live shows. "Strangers and Friends" not only symbolizes The Freddie Long Band's growth together, but also the recognition and appreciation of the beauty and connecting power of music itself.

Fresh out of Lebanon Valley College and looking to continue his music career with a larger live arrangement, songwriter/performer Freddie Long began to audition musicians for a full band. Through ads he had posted on Craigslist and websites of local music stores, Freddie held several auditions and found some of the most talented players in his area. Bassist Randy Mazzi was the first, followed by drummer Ken Deater and lead guitarist Christopher Bell-Boudreaux. Despite hardly knowing each other and being from diverse musical backgrounds, The Freddie Long Band was already gigging at popular clubs and festivals and receiving many positive responses within a week of playing together.

The four-piece pop/rock group has been turning the heads and ears of many ever since--from folkies to metal-heads alike--packing venues across the Mid-Atlantic with their own catchy and introspective original music. During their busy touring schedule, the four-piece pop/rock group has shared bills with many popular regional and national acts including Blue Oyster Cult, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Jah Works, All Mighty Senators, Mary Ann Redmond, Scott Ambush (of Grammy-nominated group Spyro Gyra), and the Kelly Bell Band.

In a very short time the Freddie Long Band has become a musical staple of the Mid-Atlantic region. With the makings of an exciting future ahead, the FLB continues to tour regularly in support of their debut release "Strangers and Friends."

  • A collection of well crafted songs recorded with power and style

The CD gets your attention from the powerful first note and doesn't let you go until the last. The songs are personal and witty. Each musician delivers a knockout performance and Freddie's vocals are soulful and strong. The bonus track is certainly that. Turn it up and Feel it! The Freddie Long Band's debut album, Strangers and Friends, is a perfect CD to listen to in the car and will turn these musical strangers into your friends.

  • Exactly the kind of musical diversion my ears have been longing for.

This album is very engaging from start to finish. The melodies are very tantalizing; the lyrics thought provoking; Chris’ licks are awesome (this guy can play!!) Having witnessed the maturation of most of these songs from the days of the two-piece band to the full line up of today, I say without hesitation Freddie is very talented and has a very bright future ahead of him. “Strangers and Friends” is a beautiful showcase of Freddie’s talents -- well written songs accompanied by solid musicianship. Chris, Randy, and Ken provide the musical chemistry that makes this a hit. “Blanket,” “Punch Line,” and “Still Home” are my favorite standouts. Well worth the listen.

  • Freddie is always my favorite.

Freddie did an album launch at FLINCHY'S in Camp Hill, PA after much promotion by Flinchy. The place was packed and Freddy and the gang did their usual great performance. All the new "stuff" made it even better. I have my album at my office and play if all the time. We are hoping that The Freddie Long Band will be the headliner at Flinchypalooza II this summer on the Susquehanna River!!!! Carpe Diem Freddie!
