Chase Frank's 2006 release is a stunning mix of 13 songs ranging from noticeably tangible influences to some a bit more obscure. In "Winter Is My Summer", Frank has created a marriage of indie-rock and dark-psychedelia. She has drawn comparisons to Polly Jean, Suzie, Portishead, The Kills and Sonic Youth.

author: Steven G.It's hard to imagine one person playing all these parts live (and alone) but I can't wait to see it! I bought Winter Is My Summer in San Francisco and had to share the wealth. There is an Americana feel w/her guitar style, but definitely indie-rock. It's very lyrical, filled w/insights into the human condition, and somehow it's also noise-pop. To me, it basically defies genre. The songs are deep, and I get the feeling the masses may not understand, but sometimes that's a good thing. Hope you come back to san francisco soon, i won't miss it this time!
