notes

Foxycock (n) - Truly extreme pop/rock satire/political bossa nova, filtered through unicorn influenced space rainbow jazz.

If you've ever wondered what it would sound like if an atomic bomb the size of a black hole exploded backwards inside the bowels of the universe...well get ready to find out with the smooth sounds of Foxycock. On their debut album, Black Music For White People released in September 2005, Foxycock embark on a trans-galactic musical journey of comedic catharsis to bring the lost power chord back to earth, destroy the powers that be through peaceful means and score some space weed. The music of Foxycock projects the listener through a one-hour sonic wormhole of infinite awkward possibilities into a universe on the brink of destruction. Both juvenal and sophisticated, inspiring and offending, the New York Times says, "Foxycock answers the ultimate question of life!" Taking on such timely and controversial subjects as trans-racial eroticism, 9/11 nostalgia, 80's music obsession, internet porn addiction, gay children's songs and reptilian/ humanoid government leaders, Foxycock's music, though not for the weak of heart, is sure to provoke, offend and/or entertain you. Foxycock - Bio (part 1)

After decimating the Scandinavian music scene, Foxycock hoped on the first illegal Japanese fishing vessel and headed straight to Greenland. Not much of a music scene in Greenland so the continued southwest to Nova Scotia. After an initial warm reception, they were brutally mocked and raped by polar bears and barely escaped with their lives, and a hit song! Spreading their gospel like a plague from the artic north they continued on their fateful journey west. Enraging political opposition along the way, confronting religious bigotry, exposing and overthrowing corporate fascism, and trying to get laid, their catchy hit songs pull humanity both forward and backward at the same time. Putting their previously before unmentioned alien abduction/molestation behind them, Foxycock forge on, into the unchartered territory of a post-Foxycock world.

  • unholly harmony tour de force

Foxycock is an amalgamation of all unholy and at the same time eternally beautiful.... jazzy melodies intertwine with folk and country, punk rock, heavy metal, techno... bringing to life a pschitzophrenic 12 headed shiva monster. And then throw in a scoop of fucking hilarious, with a dash of conspiracy theory, governmental mistrust and some space weed and you have a crazy band......... great ideas and vocal melodies... Foxycock are catching the attention of the police...christian parent associations.... punk rock middle aged dads... children with a penchant for rainbows........ hippies.... jazz afficianados ... lesbians... Phyllis Schlathleyalike, the N.R.A. Scientology and numerous others..... heeding the call like happy sheep to the slaughter. New album black music for white people out in stores comes with a strong parental guidance warning. Buy it.

  • funnier than it should be or needs to be

Every song is funny and well executed..........except for "robots fucking" ...and parts of "space dragon" .....which hover over the realm of obvious, insulting bullshit interlude filler material.....these songs all hit the mark. Usually a cd comes out and there are three songs that are good....foxycock has 13 hits out of 15...that's just good math.

  • Sophomoric, with a strong whiff of hysterical
