From the Press Release:

When Laughter Is A Powerful Weapon Vol. 2 is released in early December 2005, it will be, perhaps, the greatest single comedy music compilation that has ever been released. To make this CD even better all the profits from the project will go directly to the American Red Cross to aid in relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. This CD will feature the absolute best artists in the world of Comedy Music coming together for a very worthy cause to show that Laughter is, indeed, a Powerful Weapon.

The biggest name in funny music, “Weird Al” Yankovic has donated a rare version of his song Happy Birthday that has been newly remixed for the first time for this CD. Yankovic’s drummer, Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz, has donated a cover of the song Mr. Ghost Goes To Town he recorded 30 years ago. Barnes & Barnes the authors of one of the most popular comedy songs of all time, Fish Heads, have donated the first track they’ve recorded in many years Granny & The Kid. The 27 Track CD also features songs from other comedy music heavy hitters Steven Banks, Henry Phillips, The Four Postmen, Carla Ulbrich and Rob Paravonian among others. The CD also includes an EXCLUSIVE episode of the popular Podcast, The Radio Adventures Of Dr. Floyd. The CD also includes a special introduction by legendary Comedy DJ, Dr. Demento.

The CD was the brain-child of Jaye of Druidsfire Productions who along with the founders of Funny Musicians For A Serious Cause, Grant Baciocco and Chris Mezzolesta, put the plan into action. Grant Baciocco dealt with finding artists and getting clearances for the songs on the CD while Chris Mezzolesta mastered the CD for production. Funny Musicians produced a CD after the events of September 11, 2001, which has raised over $2000 for the Twin Towers Orphan Fund. The CD will sell for $15 at online music retailer CDBaby.com.

  • We need more weapons

If we can laugh with each other then maybe we can have peace. This is a start. Have yo ever seen two kids play? It does not matter if there parents get along or not, kids just want to have fun. This albumn is that. We all need to remember the laughter.

For goodness' sake -- it's 2 dozen funny songs! That's a treasure trove for the grabbing. The producers should do this every year.

  • Great album

Great album. Some songs I would not have chosen but a great compilation of many artists with many backgrounds!

  • Funny stuff!

I enjoyed listening to this cd very much. A few draws for me were the remix of Weird Al's "Happy Birthday", and The Jon Schwartz Project's "Mr Ghost is Coming to Town". One of my favorite tracks is "My Cat is Afraid of the Vaccuum Cleaner". Very funny and cute! The Dr. Floyd segment was good, too. This was my first time hearing Dr. Floyd. This is a very good cd, done for a very good cause.

  • Good stuff!

This album has many exemplary tracks, like "you were wrong cabinet sanchez" and "My Cat Is Afraid Of The Vacuum Cleaner" But the best reason to buy this album is unquestionably the remix of "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Happy Birtday". This is an important part of Al's history.

  • This CD rocks

All the songs on this CD are Hilarious.

  • buy it for "somebody cue the band"!
    author: mags

Very funny--I've only listened once, but it was worth it for Somebody Cue the Band and, for us who remember, I Miss Paul. And, for a good cause. Nice job guys. Oh, yeah, where are the funny women??

  • Not always a home run, but very funny overall.

Much like just about any comedy anthology CD, the work can be a little uneven. Some of the tracks (e.g., "Urinal Cake") didn't strike me as funny at all, while others (e.g., "you were wrong cabinet sanchez") I listened to over an over again, laughing as much the fourth time as the first. I truly wish I had the talent to make serious points in a funny way like "Punish the People". To be honest, I wish more of the tracks had it's social conscious. It hits the "serious cause" in question smack on. I actually bought the CD for the Doctor Floyd segment (my kids are BIG fans) and I wasn't disappointed. (Neither were they.) Really good CD. Really good cause. Remember the Gulf South. We need your help.

  • Great

This CD features a mouthful of hilarious hits, and is one of the best CD's you could ever get. The fact that it helps out a great cause is icing on the cake!

  • Great Compliation For A Great Cause

The Comedy Music community have come together again to lend their musical talents to help people in crisis in their very unique way. After being involved as a contributor to the first CD, I am glad that when the country needed to laugh, the comedy music world responded. The compilation is a gem with the remix of "Happy Birthday" and a new Barnes & Barnes track, along with many others. If you have yet to buy this CD, please buy this in support of the victims of the Hurricanes.

  • Wonderful Funny Music
    author: dyna

This is one of the best compilations of humorous music I have come across. With several songs unreleased elsewhere it is a find for any lover of comedy music. Even those who normally dislike comedy music will find something here they enjoy.

  • Spectacular mix!
    author: Carol

I love this CD. The brand new stereo remix of Weird Al's track is well worth it alone. But to add "Mad Scientists United", "Mr Ghost", "My Cabbie Is A Madman" among others... WOW. I was laughing my face off.

  • Perfect Compilation
    author: Dino-Mike

This was the best comedy music compilation I have ever heard. This is definately worth the buy!!!

  • The funny musician community produces a great compilation.

The funny musicians and novelty artists really came out in style for this collection. The songs are high quality, and a good overview of the music that's out there today. In addition, the CD supports a worthy cause. I was very impressed with the music and had a great time listening to it.
