John Flynn is the father of seven children and has been Catholic all of his life. As a musician he has been increasingly bothered by the poor level of music in the Church. John’s answer to that is the new CD CRY OUT. Recorded at one of the top studios in the country (Maximedia Dallas- Pat Green, Nicole Nordeman, Mercy Me) and featuring some great musicians, this new release is sure to change the face of Christian music.
CRY OUT features all original songs written by Flynn and time tested in worship services. The songs are simple, scriptural and very singable and yet the depth of emotion that comes from them is astounding. The arrangements also are simple yet extremely effective. From the Celtic sounding title track of CRY OUT to the hard rockers OUR GOD REIGNS and PREPARE MY HEART this album is sure to touch you in some way.
Featuring nationally known keyboard player Eymard Furtado, drummer John Carruth, bass player Wes Stephenson and international champion bagpiper Tyler Duncan on the Irish Small Pipes, The John Flynn Band will astound you with their musical virtuosity and lift your heart and spirit with their witness and their prayerful presence.
About the Band:
The JFB has played all over the country and around the world. They have had considerable radio play and several TV appearances including EWTN’’s Life on the Rock. Some highlights have been the various NCYC Conferences, World Youth Day events and a retreat in Dublin, Ireland. The JFB has also done a number of church missions and concerts, youth events and conferences. The JFB has released two studio albums, Kissing the Heart of God and Cry Out. They have also been featured on several compilation albums. Led by songwriter John Flynn, the JFB will have you dancing with wild abandon one moment and lifting your voice in prayer the next. The band is known for reaching even the most hardened of hearts simply by the quality and modern style of their music, yet the lyrics reach deep into the worship of our God.

slamm'in, it's a gas, fly, phat, i dig it!
author: christinejohn knows how to bring it home! the man just gives it his all on stage and you can really hear that in this album, the genuine joy and love that's there, from both the lyrics and the music crying out.. from songs so beautiful and that really speak to the heart like, "Your Grace Brings Me Back" and "Forsaken" to an edgy power ballad-esque classic like, "Our God Reigns", to a crazy gospel funk in "My Soul Rejoices", John and the guys will really get you mov'in in your seat and bobb'in that head to some really great tunes!

Like Flynn, I have never been able to find quality religious music that is actually fun but at the same time meaningful. This CD brings out both of those aspects, but blends them together in such a subtle way that you truly will be "dancing with wild abandon" and yet praising our God at the same time. Check this album out. It's totally worth it.
