notes

Michelle Flowers is the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Flowers Sr. and the late Evangelist Wilma Flowers.
She started singing as soon as she could talk. She is a member of a family of sixteen children. (her brother, Robert Earl Flowers, helped her with this album and is part of the very talented family). Her twin brother Michael Flowers is a minister.

From the S.E. side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, she started singing with her father's church choir and she later became a member of the Gospel singing group "The Flower Sisters" of Grand Rapid, Michigan. She has traveled throughout the country singing gospel praises and her music comes from the heart.

Michelle is a talented musician, artist, producer and songwriter and through a cousin she met Jeffrey Valantine, (a very talented and religious musician, songwriter and producer). Soon they created new Gospel Music sounds that could compete with the best R&B and top 40's.

On billboard gospel charts #35, playing in over 150 radio stations

Michelle Flowers' "Somebody Love You" is overall a nice listen. Her powerful, churchy voice melds well over nice beat-laden tracks that would please the traditional listener as well as the urban/contemporary ear. Flowers' vocal techniques are controlled and listenable while many gospel sirens of today annoy the listener's ear with constant vocal acrobatics. Flowers' adds just enough spice at the appropriate time, keeping the listener interested at all times. Although the album exposes its occassional use of cliche'-ish tones and beat patterns, the melodies and lyrics are fresh; the songs are overall inspiring and uplifting. Standout tracks include "Whatever You Want/I'll Follow You (Fast and Slow Versions)", "Lord We Need To Hear From You", "Cast Your Cares", "Giving You the Highest Praise",and "Got to Have You Tonight." Flowers' delivery is passionate, production is satisfying, and overall, the CD is definitely a good buy.
