Toronto shoegazers Fjord Rowboat have been healing the world with reverb since the fall of 2004 and are proud to release their debut album Saved the Compliments for Morning. The group comprises Craig Gloster on vocals and keyboard, Justin Grant and Matt Collum on guitar, and brothers Kevin and Ian McKay on drums and bass.
The band has built a reputation for powerful live performances, creating a swirling and dynamic wash of sound with soaring guitars, driving rhythms and lush vocals. Highlights from their live history include appearances at CMW, NXNE, the No Format Shoegaze Night, and the Drake Hotel Best of 2006 Festival. They have recently supported Handsome Furs, Red Sparrowes, and The Russian Futurists.
Fjord Rowboat began writing and recording the songs that make up Saved the Compliments for Morning in the autumn of 2005. The initial sessions took place in the band's own studio, and final recordings were produced at House of Miracles under the direction of Andy Magoffin (Constantines, Hidden Cameras, By Divine Right).

I really enjoy this album. A bit Shoegaze, but a great rocker.
Fjord Rowboat are up there with other fantastic Canadian bands such as The Free Press and Id Guinness.

The future of Canadian rock!
author: James Wilks
Fjord Rowboat is a great band! This is awesome indie rock with strong shoegaze tendencies, and a little bit of post-rock. It reminds me of bands like Stars Of Track And Field and Snow Patrol, with the beautiful guitars complimenting the great vocals. Every song is good. This is great to listen to if you're out driving at night, or out enjoying nature in the daytime. The album cover really reflects the sound and feel of the album. With bands like Fjord Rowboat and In-Flight Safety, Canadian rock is better than ever!
