notes
This disc cronicles the first 14 releases from the Detroit Blues label No Cover Productions. We started out with the Detroit Blues Band featuring Jim McCarty in 1995 and also released 2 Cd's by James Glass & The Get To Gettin' Band that year. No Cover then released Johnnie Bassett's first Cd on which he was the featured artist. this was followed by the recording debut of Motor City Josh & The Big Three. A guest spot on Josh's CD led to a full lenght project by Tony "The Godfather of the Blues" Valentino (R.I.P. Tony)
Next came a new band, short lived as new bands often are, but the Blues Crusaders left us with an excellent Cd before they disbanded. Then in 1997 a very special event happened "Willie "D" Warren Live" was released. with the solid backing of local blues-rockers Mystery Train Willie recorded the only fll length Cd to be released during his lifetime. The Detroit Blues Band And Motor City Josh released new Cd's next and then came another new act - Blue Spirit Tribe. on New Years Eve 98/99 No Cover recorded a all-legends show at the Attic Bar in Hamtrammck Mi. with 5 great acts resulting in the stellar Cd "Blues At Midnight" Rounding out the first 14 we released Cd's By Bobby Murray, Longtime guitarist for Etta James, and the Motor City Sheiks.
