  • this cd rocks!
    author: Kevin Allen

I just saw Holly and her band at Madison's in Seattle, and I bought her CD there, and I was looking through her website and found this place to say how GREAT I think the CD is. The songs are all different. She's got every genre down. If you can see her live, do it! If you can't, get this CD. Holly, I can't wait for your next one!

  • I have been waiting for a great new soulful talent as Holly is. Great !!!!!!!
    author: Pj Barger

It gets you in the groove and takes you away. Great soulful voice. Her voice is more like an instrument. The musicians add to the heart of the songs making you get into the music. Thank you. It's hard for me to find music that I can feel, like yours.

  • spirited...
author: Doug Tucker, Kwva, 88.1/ Krvm, 91.9 Eugene, Or

from jazz to blues with a NW focus, Holly delivers spirited performances on her disc...worth a listen to see if it is your cup of plea

  • ...terrific!
author: Amy Jeffries Wrtc 89.3fm, Hartford Ct

... terrific! (three chord plea) has the edginess of rock with the provocative lyrics of folk.

  • ...blatently erotic...a masterwork
author: The Washington Blues Society, May 1999

...Blatantly erotic, unadulterated honesty and raw emotion, Three Chord Plea is a superb offering of euphonic passion expressed in acoustic format that should not be filed into any one distinct music category...a masterwork...

  • "...earthy passion..."
author: Richard Fox, Wcuw 91.3 Fm Worcester Ma

...Holly Figueroa Band's release Three Chord Plea is a mix of bluesy folk with a fine edge, delivered with earthy passion.

  • "...stunning debut album..."
author: The Worcester Phoenix, Laura Kiritsy, July 1999

"Three Chord Plea" is a stunning debut album, complete with haunting folk storytelling, emotionally charged a cappella, bluesy semi acoustic alt-rock, and down and dirty blues that will knock you over.

  • "Spirited and Edgy"
author: The Seattle Rocket (seattle Wa)

...On an album where the studio tracks are as spirited and edgy as the live tracks, Figueroa proves that she can cut loose vocally no matter where she is.

  • "Charmingly blunt..."
author: Scott Mclennan, Worcester (ma) Telegram, Datebookjuly, 1999

"Three Chord Plea" is charmingly blunt, as on "What I Miss", to harrowing, mood evoked on "A Thousand Times." She cuts through with a smoky, after midnight feel that ensures this (Indiegrrl) ringleader will not be confused with Lilith's white bread leading lady, Sarah McLachlan.
