    This is a great CD. Melissa Ferrick was listed as recommended if you liked Chris Pureka, so I took the bait! This CD has stayed in my car player for the last week and half. I listen to it non-stop. Great lyrics and she has an awesome voice!

    Today I finally got my ''Listen Hard'' cd by Melissa Ferrick. I had been downloading that 2:00 minute clip of ''Burn this Guitar'' over and over I figured, it was over due to throw down. Burn this Guitar is literally one of my favorite songs ever & Coming from a musician, musicologist, straight up music critique... thats a serious compliment. This album is rocking & catchy & straight-up Proffessional sounding. In fact, I think this specific album maybe one of the best albums for sale at CD Baby period. ''Burn this guitar'' is the standout track but it doesn't stop there. '' Selfish Side'' is filled with heart and soul. & ''all for me'' as well as ''marrie in the middle'' are also great sounding stand- out songs. Over all, I give this record a solid 4 stars, must have, alternative folk-rock record. Seriously, Buy this record !     WOW! Melissa, baby you ROCK! Your voice is enough to make people sit up and take notice. The lyrics are devestatingly wonderful. I recommend this and ALL of your music CD's to anyone. Give me time and I will own them all. My fav off of Listen Hard is 'Burn This Guitar' it speaks to me on a level I find hard to explain.

    I down loaded a whole bunch of your music Melissa. I cannot stop listening to it. Every song on Listen up is great. I think my favorite songs are Freedom, Honest eyes, I still love you, welcome to my life,Burn this gutair, All for me. I can't name all my favorites cause I love every song. Melissa your music is so unique. I can;t stop listenig to it, and I won't stop either. Keep it up your great. I'll always be your fan!

    I was able to catch a gig on the Listen Hard tour back in December and the moment I bought this album, the memories replayed themselves in my head - The songs You and Back In Love touch me in very emotional ways. The power and feeling in the words of this album are undying. Listen Hard... and then listen again!!!

    Ahhhh Melissa. When I first listened to this cd, I just had this feeling that I was riding in a pickup truck in the country with my hair blowing and my bare feet hanging out the window. Relaxing, empowering, kick-ass guitar riffs. And of course, as always, beautiful vocals.

    The CD is a little bit rock'n'roll and a little bit of the Melissa Ferrick we all know and love. A great group of songs, with much emotion and feeling. Listen Hard takes a few run-throughs to really fall for, but the time is truly worth it.

    So many of Melissa's lyrics go right through me, bumping into my heart my stomach, my lungs and my tearducts along the way...her stories are so personal & so universal at the same time. All the songs I love, the ones that stand out for me are "Burn this guitar", "You", "Fighting chance", "Let's Fly", oh, lemmie think...there's more for sure...Check it out for yourself! Listen to it several times over, read her lyrics (unfortunately for Melissa, whoever printed them didn't double check for stupid errors, so there are some), let them sink into you, let her sink into you. She's beautiful. These songs are the closest most of of will come to see that in her.

    I'm a new Melissa fan and I bought "Freedom" at her show back a few weeks ago. I then bought "Skinnier Faster" and this one. "Skinnier Faster" was more enjoyable cause I already knew the material, "Listen Hard" is taking a bit of warm up time, the style seems quite different....

    This cd is great! I must admit the first time I put it in I wasn't use to melissa being back in the studio, but the second time through I was hooked. The cd is very dynamic just like Melissa's personality. I recommend you order the cd cause it has everything a person needs to get through a day.

    Great Cd! Not my favorite of Melissa Ferrick's (freedom captures that spot!) but still amazing. I bought it at her concert a few weeks ago and haven't stopped listening to it since. "All For me" (#5) is great... a little more poppy than most of her stuff, but you can't help but love it. "Back in love" (#3) is another favorite, "Thinking" (#10) is a great ender... i like nearly all the songs. Don't expect the same thing as "Freedom" because, as with every one of Melissa's cd's they are completely different and captivating in their own sense. The mood of this cd... more peaceful and at ease than any other cd. it seems convey acceptance of where she is in life...
