Album Notes

OUR BIO Felina's Arrow is set to break your heart open with songs that reflect people's triumphs, failures, and struggles. After meeting on the sidewalk in Seattle 2002, Poeina and Felicia became instantly inseparable. Felina's Arrow toured non-stop, coast to coast, from the sidewalk to the theatres, in a VW van for the next four years. Felina's Arrow has lived in Portland, Oregon for the last two years where they have been a teacher, a carpenter/graphic designer, and community volunteers, as well as continuing their passion for music. They released the album "Let Me Tell You A Story" in summer of 2006, and are preparing to release two new albums this winter and spring. The first album is a collection of live music from their travels called "About Life", the second album is a collection of new material called "When Tragedy becomes Love". Felina's Arrow creates a live spectacle for the eyes ears and heart often mixing multimedia performance art, music and dance. DESCRIPTION OF SOUND glam, pain and harmony soulful, experimental, operatic expression of dulce de leche womyn challenging social ideals PRESS ...the intoxicating and sullen waltz of Felina's Arrow The Mercury - celebration of the siren nation by Em Brownlowe Portland, OR 9/08 Felina's Arrow is completely new to me I'm excited to hear what they have to offer. Self- described as glam, pain and harmony their soulful vocals are already tugging at my lusty heartstrings, even from the tinny speakers through the internet. Oregonian Live - siren nation preview: the music by Alley Hector Portland, OR 9/08 Felina’s Arrow: Poeina Suddarth and Felicia Figueroa blend dynamic and ghostly vocals with intimate music played on an assortment of instruments to create an altogether unique soundscape. It’s in the pairing of their voices, sometimes in contrast to one another and sometimes in complete harmony, where these women make their show. Just Out- Hear me Roar by Kristin Steele Portland, OR 10/08 Felina’s Arrow = Cat Power + Bjork + Jewel? If you’re into going to the restaurants that have live music on their schedules, Let Me Tell You a Story is a good way to recreate that atmosphere without leaving the house. It seems that as the album goes by, it really is telling you a story. Each song has a different vibe from jazzy to comedic. The instrumental sound is exceptionally good and blends in with the ghostly vocals of Poeina Suddarth and Felicia Figueroa. ~slug magazine - CD review SLC, UT - 12/07 - Issue 228 "Their album, let me tell you a story, has a beautiful reminiscent sound of what it must have been like to see Ella Fitzgerald perform in her favorite piano bar....Felina is unique in it's re-creation of history in music....already starlets in a grungy river town, the women of Felina will be hard to miss being a shiny diamond in the rough of Portland." ~Just Out - A Class Act by West Duncan Portland, OR 5/07 “The Power beauty and magic of music, truly the heart and soul of music, is to be passing on songs that reflect people’s lives and stories that aren’t readily available by any other means. That’s what I love about you two. You bring these kinds of things to us and you are conscious in your music. Great music, voluminous music, it’s so beautiful, you have it all as far as I am concerned.” ~KBOO 90.7fm - Woman Soul live interview by Sheila Gayle Portland, OR 5/07 “Felina’s CD, Let Me Tell You a Story, is a breath of fresh air. It takes quite a bit of artistry to create something completely unique, and Felina has done it….The Vocals have a quirkiness that could be compared to Regina Spektor and Bjork…Suddarth’s voice had the control of an opera singer, the tenderness of a folk singer, and the unleashed power of a woman scorned…Just like their album, their live show will catch you by surprise at every turn.” ~Volcano Weekly – Sound Check Two Worlds Collide by Angela Jossy Olympia, WA 4/07 “Imaginative treatment of standards by

This album is sultry, spooky, silly, and superb. Felina's Arrow is a duo with teeming talent; they have done and can do so much more than this album implies! Let Me Tell You A Story is a great, representative sample of their repetoire.

This CD has something for everyone. IT IS AWESOME!

This specific CD has something for just about everyone. Don't miss 'Joe's Pot Pies' at the end. Poeina actually plays a toy piano! My daughter sings Gurrrrl all the time. And of course, we love the Monkey Song, but we love ALL of the songs on this CD. If you don't have one, you're missing out. I met these ladies when they were 'Red Fish Blue Fish', followed them when they were 'Felina', and now to 'Felina's Arrow'. These two young women have so very much talent, and are just coming into their own. (Love you, my foster daughters! See you in Boise!)
