notes

L.A. based studio vocalist, Felice Hernandez has at last released her first solo album, “Accidental Life”. To quote Felice, “I’ve been singing for other people all of my life. It’s really great to be able to do something for myself this time!” Her voice has been heard worldwide backing up numerous recording artists, including Hilary Duff (Metamorphosis tour), Kevin Spacey (Beyond the Sea tour), Neil Young (Living With War), Michael McDonald, Josh Groban and many more. Felice’s signature voice is heard daily on international radio as the station i.d. singer of Heart FM in London, England, as well as on Q102 in Dublin, Ireland. Her influences range all over the pop and r&b spectrum, from Chaka Khan, the Brand New Heavies and Anastacia.

Felice Hernandez puts her best foot forward on her debut cd. She joins forces with producer-songwriter, Herman Eng, to create an array of fun and catchy r&b-flavored pop. Lyrics are important to every great songwriter, and hers speak of truth, wisdom and real-life experiences. The first cut, “Same Old Same” is reminiscent of classic Sly Stone describing the frustration of dear friends who can’t follow good advice. “Cool” sings of sweet appreciation for true love, while “It’s All Mine” puts emphasis on life’s simple pleasures and an attitude of living in the moment. Her vocal performance shows a sensitive, yet tongue-in-cheek cry of desperation in “I Wanna Fall In Love So Bad”. Throughout the cd, she tastefully utilizes her soulful riff skills, never overusing them, as many of today’s young artists do. She executes with a pleasing balance of flash and simplicity in her vocal stylings. There is a refreshingly honest spirit that radiates throughout the songs.

Overall, “Accidental Life” is a groovy, well-rounded, very listenable album. (You will definitely catch yourself singing a chorus or two after one play.) Just be ready for anything and everything because in your accidental life…fate is always changing.

i enjoyed very much this cd. it's a mix of pop and soul songs. my favorite is "i wanna fall in love so bad" (very very soulful) but the other tracks are excellent too. a fine guitarist plays several solos too.
