“The Spirit Of Jazz” will arouse a new emotion in you. It makes traditional African American Spirituals and favorite hymns accessible to a wider audience. The Jazz Ministry at Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ proclaims the Good News of Jesus Christ in unique ways. Through it we have been able to assemble a diversity of people in a common cause. Our artists are among the finest musicians in Washington, DC or in the nation, for that matter. They bring a special passion for their noble work.
Our Jazz Ministry attracts faithful Christians to our performances as well as those who have not heretofore given their lives to Jesus Christ. I hope then, that those who hear the songs recorded here will not only enjoy their melodies and rhythms - that their lives will be enriched and take on a new meaning because they have really heard Gospel truths.
