FANOE builds own soundscapes by mixing dirty rock riffs with electronic elements. Classic songwriting, abstract rhythms and vocals which are sometimes energetic and screaming and sometimes more whispering and eager. This moods together build an own dynamic and style. Concerning Style and Genre FANOE is often compared with bands such as Marilyn Manson or Nine Inch Nails. This is maybe because there are not that many bands sounding like this. The mix of the different influences like david bowie, kyuss, tool, skold or also nin makes the music of FANOE stand of its own.

The Album Empire Dirt contains 14 Tracks. Dirty Industrial/Goth Rock or sterile electro. This Album has it all.
The album is professionally recorded and mastered. It comes with 8 pages booklet and lyrics.

  • every single song on the disc is perfectly crafted

    Like Marilyn Manson, Fanoe is both the name of the band and the name of its founder. Also like Marilyn Manson, Fanoe's music is rock and roll with an industrial edge, not the other way around, but it works. The first few tracks on this album are like a more dissonant Nine Inch Nails, with pulsing drum machine breakbeats, chopped snippets of electric guitars, and whispery vocals that burst into a tortured, gravelly shout on the chorus. Things really pick up by third track "Naked," which is deliciously sleazy in the vein of the Revolting Cocks despite the occasional misuse of English language slang (in the chorus, Fanoe encourages that "Everybody have a good fuck tonight!"). A number of songs hint at a Ministry influence, from the industrialized speed metal of "Battlefield" to the slow but heavy reverb-drenched "Mistress." Title track "Empire Dirt" is also a standout; it's great music for high-speed freeway driving the same way that White Zombie's "Thunderkiss 69" is. Fanoe is capable of more than just drum machines and thrash guitar, however, and shows a particular talent with piano arrangements; "Invisible" creaks and squeaks, with minor key arpeggios adding sinister depth, while the instrumental outro "Zero" creates a dark orchestral feel with low-octave pianos and sampled string orchestration. This album might be a little too radio-friendly for some industrial purists - "Part" is particularly accessible - but be that as it may, every single song on the disc is perfectly crafted. It's altogether possible that Fanoe is well on his way to replacing HIM's Ville Valo as the Hot Topic crowd's favorite European import.

  • Finally A New Industrial Band That Rocks

    When I first listened to the music I found it interesting. After I downloaded some free tracks and listened to them again and again I started to love it. This band reminds of nine inch nails and manson in the beginning. But after listening to the songs a few times you recognize this is unique and original Rock with well written electro Elements. The Album contains several songs that will make the crowd go wild in a club. Still it has nothing to do with bum bum sound like trance goth or shit like that. Me for my part can't wait to see this band live once. Fanoe rocks!!!

    Editors Review of music.download.com (Cnet): A swirling mixture of electronic tonality gets covered with grimy guitar licks by this Swiss band, though Fanoe matches its intense vibe with dark musicality that's energetic and motivating. A great listen for when you start building that dungeon you've always wanted--Trent Reznor would be proud of this industrial-sized effort.
