Album Notes

David Fagin is the founder/gtrst/vocalist for indie icon's, The Rosenbergs. Search the Internet for info on The Rosenbergs and you'll come across hundreds of articles summarizing a history of bold career moves. One of which was teaming up with legendary progressive rock master, Robert Fripp. Through Fripp's UK based label, DGM, The Rosenbergs began paving the way for artists to begin partnering with labels, thus giving them a share in the ownership of their masters and better control of their financial futures. A few months later, while the rest of the music industry was waging war against Napster, The Rosenbergs, ahead of their time, took another controversial step by teaming with the infamous file-sharing service for tour sponsorship and a "buy one, get one free" promotion for their sophomore release Mission: You. David was one of the earliest outspoken supporters of file sharing because it represented the public's attitude toward corporations' monopolizing of the airwaves. Davids music can be heard on numerous television shows airing on FOX, CBS, NBC, WB, BRAVO, MTV, and ESPN. Odds are you've heard his songs while flying American Airlines, shopping at The Gap, or watching one of the many prime-time teenie soaps. He currently has five songs in the popular DVD rental, Mr. Fix It, including an unreleased version of "Birds of a Feather." He has made numerous co-hosting appearances on XM radio with former Smithereens front man, Pat Dinizio, and was asked by Gene Simmons of Kiss to appear on the Howard Stern Show to discuss the future of the music business. After his first appearance on Dennis Miller Live, Dennis personally asked David to co-produce future panels. The Rosenbergs have 3 tracks off their latest release, "Department Store Girl," on Playboy: The Mansion, Playboys first video game for XBOX, Play Station, PC, which has sold over 600,000 copies to date. David is also a character in the game itself, and the band performed twice at the Mansion to kick off the game's release. Pushing Up Daisies will be featured in National Lampoon's The Trouble With Frank; starring Jon Bon Jovi, Cary Elwes, David Faustino, and Estella Warren. The band recently appeared for five consecutive nights on Last Call W/ Carson Daly, and has shared the stage with everyone from No Doubt and Stone Temple Pilots to Duncan Sheik, The Strokes, and Duran Duran. David is currently working on his first solo record and is going broke. In his spare time he works with The Muppets on Sesame Street. David is a frequent contributor to Billboard Magazine, USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter, and Starpolish.com. Since 1999, he has been active in the politics of the music business and testified at the C.A.R.P. hearings on Capitol Hill alongside Alanis Morissette. He has lectured on the business of music at Harvard Law School, Vanderbilt University, Emory Law, UCLA, and NYU, and regularly speaks on industry panels across the country. Vive' La Revolucion!

Amazing Debut

FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY: David Fagin Hungry Hippo Music Very melodic and sweet to the ears. The 11 songs on 'FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY' the brilliant debut release from former Rosenberg's frontman, David Fagin are finely crafted and expertly woven into this artistically solid and classic work. Above and beyond the musicianship on display here are the wonderful lyrics present on each and every song. Fabulous Pop/Rock riffs with hooks a plenty. This album gets better and better after every listen, the test of a true classic in the making. I'd hate to have to pick a single, any one of the first nine would do, but maybe "I Do" or "Goddess of Nothing" are a couple of my personal favorites. Fagin's intimate vocal delivery, with undeniably intelligent pop approach will grab you hook line and sinker. When it comes down to it though, If this guy doesn't get big time airplay the world has gone mad. If you live for melody and smart songwriting, you'll make it a priority to own this album imm

David Fagin's first solo CD, "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY" is a definite departure from the straight-forward power pop sound he delivers as frontman of the band "The Rosenbergs". ("S/T release", "MISSION:YOU", "Department Store Girl") This release finds Fagin branching out and breaking the "powerpop" mold with a wide variety of musical textures and tempos. Lyrically, it is a release that shows Fagin reflecting the pain of a broken relationship with a maturity and an honesty that matches his years and breaks the "juvenile" stigma often placed on "powerpop" artists and their lyrical output. Right out of the gate, "I DO" lets you know that this release is no slouch. If you shut your eyes while this song is playing you can feel yourself driving down the road with the top down on a PERFECT Summer day and this song BLASTING from the speakers... Yes, it's THAT good. As the CD unfolds, the listener follows Fagin as he navigates a bevy of emotional twists and turns that often place t
