notes

Faded Paper Figures began, like all great endeavors, as a side-project. Writing songs between dissertation chapters and frenetic bouts of southern California traffic, John (vocals/guitars) and Kael (guitars/keys/machines) were simply looking for an aesthetic and rigorous diversion. Two or three songs into the process, however, things started sounding incredible--much too good to have come from Kael's apartment bedroom. Eventually Heather (additional vocals/keys) began adding some beautiful harmonies, and FPF became the brilliant blend of indie-tronic pop that dazzles on every track in their debut album, "Dynamo."

  • I heard it at a gas station

I had a flat tire and while it was being fixed the mechanic put this CD on the garage stereo. I was immediately hooked and ordered it the next day. It hasn't left my CD player in over a month.

Death Cab (Transatlanticism) meets The Postal Service- only better. Perfect for work, driving, cycling, whatever. :)

  • From ear to heart
    author: UMK

I cannot believe it. This is one of those records that go directly from the ear to your heart. It is so gentle and mellow, but also kicking and pushing. Big up from Germany, you did a brilliant job. Congratulations!!!

This is a fabulous record. While it's true that you can find similarities to Postal Service, this record has a charm that can't really justify it being called a record that the Postal Service should have made. If you're a fan of the pop genre, this is a must have!

  • AWESOME!!!
    author: Jason - TN

This album is awesome! If you like The Postal Service or Deathcab even a little bit then this album is for you! It has such a cool, fresh vibe and brings a smile to my face everytime. I would imagine that this is great roadtrip music. You can listen to the album on the left over there or check out the band's myspace page. I got my order superfast, and the CD Baby customer service is one of a kind!

  • author: Nikki

This album is great, I was wishing The Postal Service would put out another album and this fills that gap very nicely! Thanks for the great service - I'll definitely be looking for more music!

Great album, Complete mix of my styles, much better than i'd anticipated, and i knew it was going to be good. Good postage time as well, only problem was that you can only buy this album from one site, and i suggest refering your music onto Itunes. phil

  • A Complete Album
    author: beekor

I really love the music, but the lyrical content on this record make it complete: "We can't sail without the wind in this town." Classic.

  • Finally here!
    author: Nathaniel

I am so happy for them that they released this album. Seriously. I love listening to Logos and Being there with my friends. Those songs pretty much sum up my life, so yup, I'm pretty damn happy.

  • I'm Telling You to Buy This
    author: Jeremy

Dynamo may be treading in familiar territory, but it takes an established sound and truly delivers a satisfying experience with every song. The instrumentation is smooth and ethereal. The vocal harmonies are oh-so-pleasant. This is music you want to curl up to.

  • Look Out TPS
    author: Jordan Scott

It's like listening to The Postal Service only with more substance. It seems like you've taken the good part of TPS (the electronica) and mixed it with something amazing (guitars!) and come out on top.

  • Dynamo
    author: Dustin Currie

This album really is a masterpiece. Peaceful, spacey, with some of the best changes I've heard in a long time. Plus the whole thing is good, one of the few albums I can listen to all the way through. My new favorite.

  • Wheeee
    author: Samet Çiçek

It's great to see their album out. I've found them on myspace a year ago, when they had a few songplays per day. Since then they are my favorite artist. And I love paying for their album now!
