notes

Eveline was founded in 2000 in Bologna, Italy, by a collective of talented musicians coming from all over the country and with pedigrees in other italian underground bands such as the orange, trabant, ensemble ivan illich and more recently, surfing machos & terje nordgarden trio.
eveline is essentially a new and groundbreaking project concerning alternative pop music and cool jazz, indie rock and electronics.

They recorded the first e.p. in 2001, which is called "oh my friend please call me 'cause my world is full of joy" and the second e.p., titled "the jeffy j.jeff's e.p." between 2002 and 2003. The band chose parts of this second important e.p. for its first official album, "happy birthday, eveline!!!" which was released by the independent venician label shyrec in 2005 and had a great critical success in italy.

On October 2007 the german indie label Sopot Records Ltd. republished “happy birthday eveline!!!” and distributed it across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The german critical mileau welcomed the album as one of the most interesting independent releases of 2007 and the band started a tour which reached several important german clubs in Berlin, Hannover, Bremen, Frankfurt and other important European cities. Now the band has finished the recordings of its second album, titled “waking up before dawn”, which will be released on Sonic Vista Recordings Ltd

Press Quotes:

An elegant, eclectic and experimental band moving through calm and damp classical fields.
RUMORE MAGAZINE

What a neatness in these Eveline! An old time elegance, a delicate, naive and sweet charm.
NEXT NEWSIC

A fantastic band playing dreamy songs for moon lovers. A little bit of Lali Puna, Tortoise, Yo La Tengo and a little touch of melancholic memories from our childhood.
RITUAL

Eveline plays with different identities, a strange and cool diagonal humour in the tradition of the novel figures of Pirandello, Miguel De Unamuno and Flann O'Brien
DIE ZEIT

Tracks that could seem a compilation of different ideas for 11 other full CD's
BLOW UP

Eveline may have bridged the gap between 70's indulgence and Noughties Post Rock. A rare and precious album. A beautiful Steinbeckian pearl of a record.
