Josh English started his music career at sixteen when he co-founded the band Ralph. Success grew quickly for the band as they started to play larger and larger venues, getting regular gigs at local places and even winning there high school talent show. However as time went on, the band
eventually broke up and Josh's solo career began.
Josh released his first album, Bridges and Tunnels, at nine-teen. Following the release he went on a self-booked national tour playing in small coffeshops and bars along the way. Following the tour, Josh moved into New York City and started playing in the tri-state area while working on his sophomore album.
His new album "Scenes From A Bathroom Window" was released on March 14th. His music being remenicent of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen while still having contemporary influences like Bright Eyes, The Decemberists, and Elliot Smith. The album w as recorded over the course of a year as Josh moved between different appartments, recorded wherever Josh was living at the time. The entire album was recorded on a budget of roughly $600.
Both of Josh's albums were released via DVP Records, which Josh origionally started as a format for releasing his own music. However within a year of it's founding, the label began to have some success of it's own. Deciding that running a record label and a music career at the same time would make it hard for either to succeed, Josh decided to get some help. With the signing of three new artists, Josh hired a couple of employees to help with the booking and promotional aspects of running a record label. DVP Records is an artist run record label, where the musicians on the label all work together, playing on each other's record
and making decisions to signing new artists together.
