Album Description
Celtic Crescent is a collection of Celtic-theme material from Emerald Rose. It contains a selection of previously released material from the albums "Bending Tradition" and "Fire In The Head" as well as some new recordings. Included on this production are a bluesy version of the Scots classic "Loch Lomond" and an upbeat, danceable rendition of the Celtic classic, "Wild Mountain Thyme."
Artist/Band Bio
Emerald Rose is a Celtic folk rock band from Georgia (USA) with a rich, driving world beat sound. Guitars, bass, percussion, and pennywhistle are blended with 4-part harmony vocals, giving a versatile sound adaptable to everything from Jacobite battle songs to original anthems. The band is currently a full-time touring ensemble, performing live shows from New York City to South Florida and beyond.
Emerald Rose have been featured performers at some of the South's finest venues, including the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta. The band has been mainstage performers at a growing number of science fiction and fantasy conventions around the country, including I*Con in New York, Galacticon in Chattanooga and DragonCon in Atlanta. Their performance at DragonCon won the band a unique opportunity. They have been invited to perform as featured artists at the cast party for the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers movie cast and crew following the 2003 Academy Awards presentation.

Makes me want to Dance
author: TraceyThe first song I heard by Emerald Rose was Donald McGillivray and I was hooked halfway through the first stanza. I love this band! There are so many great songs on this album. Among my favorites are Hills of America and Loch Lomond.
Some of the Best Pagan Music out there!
author: Ann DonnellyCeltic Crescent is a well thought out CD that gives the listener a good variety of songs. The music is wounderful and has great songs for everyone to dance, and sing to!
Can't get enough
author: Jay KinsmanI first found out about Emerald Rose from Kay Parnes at Mystic Isles in LaVale, MD. She recommended the CD of "Bending Tradition" to me. After hearing The Dance of the Rats on Circle of Souls I thought of going to CD Baby to look for Emerald Rose and to my surprise and joy found three more CDs from what is fast becoming one of my favorite groups.
Impressive. Most Impressive.
author: MonkeyWorks StudiosBought this for their excellent version of Loch Lomond, but enjoy all the tracks. Traditional songs but with a contemporary sound worth listening to again and again. Wish these guys would tour the Pacific Northwest!!
