Smart, soulful, and sexy pop driven by Emmaline's exceptional vocals.

notes

Emmaline Muchmore establishes herself as a singer/songwriter powerhouse with her second full-length CD release entitled Just a Cherry.

The long-awaited followup to Emmaline's Inviolate CD is a great mix of wonderfully re-worked live show staples along with brand new studio tracks. Once again the focus is on Emmaline's strong, sexy vocals with the songs being a great mix of groove-heavy pop, rock, and a couple of sweet surprises.

"Beware: Listening to Emmaline Muchmore may have long-lasting addictive effects." Northland Reader

On this great batch of songs, Emmaline expands and refines her soulful approach to electro pop/rock. Just a Cherry finds Emmaline exploring some new territory musically and lyrically, while keeping her exceptional vocals front and center and maintaining her dedication to the groove.

"Emmaline's voice is a gem, filled with unbridled soul."
Mish Mash Music

She has been compared to Annie Lennox, Fiona Apple, and Nikka Costa, and while her distinctive voice certainly lives up to these comparisons Emmaline has a style that is distinctly her own.

"Emmaline is a rare combination of sensuality and strength that I found infectious" Getgigs.com

Her intelligent, groove-infused modern pop has gained the attention of labels and management companies in the states and elsewhere. The song "Let 'Em In" from Just a Cherry is included on a UK compilation called The Greatest Music You've Never Heard, Vol. 2. She was also a finalist in an unsigned band competition hosted by Maverick Records.

Emmaline and her new band will be playing regionally in addition to doing a three-week tour of England in July 2007.

Just a Cherry achieves what I think most artists hope for. Music that can be both commercially successfull and still be at a high artistic level. There are no throw away tunes on this record and more importantly nothing repeats itself. Each track has it's own life yet fits perfect within the collective of the other tracks. Emmaline has a voice that is top notch for when power is needed for the music and also for the delicate moments. This album is fully loaded sonically and can take a few listens to catch all the layers due to the production skills of both Todd Mikkelson and Emmaline. Behind all of that is great songwriting with both music and lyric. You could take these songs and play them with various instrumentations and they would still work fantastic. The layers of sounds compliment the songs but the writing defines them. In short this is an album that listeners will want more of and for those who create music to inspire them to get to work and up their game.

I love women with big voices who can slide back and forth from silky-soft to brassy-bold with the ease of a trombone. Emmaline Muchmore was created right to my spec. In Just a Cherry, Emmaline Muchmore has put together ten songs that are multilayered both lyrically and musically. By the time I had listened to just a couple songs, I was completely addicted to Emmaline's music.
