notes
Despite the tough lookin' woman growling at you from the CD cover, I am actually quite mild-mannered and seldom mosh, with a voice that would ring beautifully over the Swiss Alps.
To describe the CD in the exclamatory, adjective-ridden style of a menu: "Caught fresh one night, live in front of an audience of three, the CD serves up a spacious, expressive voice on a bed of strong songwriting, drizzled with a light sauce of inventive guitar playing." But don't take an English major's word for it--click on a song sample to hear for yourself--
If you like what you hear, imagine it all put through a distortion pedal with three-part harmony and you might enjoy my second CD, Hiss and Hum, also available on CDBaby at http://cdbaby.com/emilybate2

fearless songwriting by substantial performer
author: brian pobocikall the elements are here. vocals, instrumentation, et al. the execution belays and betrays emily's youth. with the glut of indie/vanity recordings here is a recording that delivers fearless songwriting by a performer we can hope will be 'round
