The Embers, formed in Raleigh NC in 1958, are legendary icons in the field of Carolina beach music. They have also established a formidable following in soul, and northern soul circles in the UK and many other locations around the globe. The group, best known for their anthem "I Love Beach Music", a 1979 release, have releases on many significant labels, including Atlantic, Bell, MGM and Ace. The group continues to this day, led by founding group member and drummer, Bobby Tomlinson.
