Radiant stuff, mostly timba and salsa based material - and a hybrid effort between some of Cuba's hottest young musicians and Swiss composer/pianist/trombonist Martin Richard Lehner (El Zorro). Somos Hermanos is a clear snapshot of what is currently being listened to in Cuba: a sophisticated mix of timba, salsa, hip hop, pop, rock and other worldly influences. Excellent arrangements framed by superb vocals, mostly by Evelio Jaz Ramos with a few hot tracks sung by Van Van frontman Mayito Rivera. Highly Recommended. Bruce Polin
El Zorro's CD is absolutely killer! Great swing, sophisticated style, up tempo arrangements, and hip-to-the-tip! It's a great CD.
