ABOUT BREAK THE SPELL
Ellis' sixth release Break The Spell is a collection of eleven soulful songs. Fans and music critics alike describe Ellis’ music as a journey of self-discovery and awakening and Break The Spell embodies this sentiment, featuring lyrics rich with meaning. In the songs, she explores the power and complexity of loss as well as the opportunity to re-invent ourselves each day.

ABOUT ELLIS
Ellis is a rising star on the folk music circuit, creating a buzz after being voted “Most Wanted to Return” and performing on the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival preview tour. This talented singer, songwriter and guitarist has since been invited back to several première listening rooms including Club Passim, Outpost in the Burbs, Caffe Lena, and P.A.C.E. as well as a formal showcase at the 2007 NERFA conference. She has also been asked to open for several established artists such as Patty Larkin, Richard Shindell, Cheryl Wheeler, and Todd Snider.
Ellis has a wealth of accomplishments including songwriting and performance awards, but even more outstanding is her sincere graciousness and ability to remain down to earth while her career is riding high. Known for her vibrant and open-hearted nature and contagious sense of humor, Ellis’ music is described as joyful, unpretentious modern folk with a slight hint of country inspired by her southern roots.

Break The Spell
author: Barbara TaylorOnce again Ellis has a rich voice. She sings from her heart and experience. She can help you put into words things you feel yourself. She has made her guitar a good friend that can truly set the tone of a piece. Hard to believe she is so young.
Like a Vibrant Fabric
author: Linda Lee KennedyThis is my third Ellis CD. The production on this CD is more textured and refined than "Tigers" and, despite the black jacket, it avoids the umber and ebony tones and embraces those that are brighter. That is not to say that she doesn't tackle dark subjects, such as war in "City on Fire." She uses light melodies to pull you into heavy subjects like Suzanna Vega did with "Luka."
There is no breaking the spell this album will put you under!
author: Kristen HansonThis album is incredible. It is Ellis' most polished work to date, from cover to cover. The songs are some of her best. My personal favorite is half-winged angel. Simply, if you have never listened to Ellis, start here. If you have heard her, what are you waiting for??
Depth and Passion
author: Sarah BainBreak the Spell is definitely Ellis' break out album. Her range, the stories, the passion is so evident that one can't help but be drawn into her music. What I love most about this CD is that each time I listen to it, I discover something new about myself and who doesn't want to always be learning new things. The range of emotions is evident as is the creativity of her music. Buy this cd and you won't be disappointed.
