Album Notes

Elisabeth Ekornes was born in Oslo, the capital of Norway. While studying at the Music Conservatory in Oslo, she received her first role in "Stop the World, I Wanna Get Off," at the Soria Moria Theatre. Thereafter, she was offered several roles at other theatres, and thus began her career in the show business. Over the course of her three years at the Sogn and Fjordane Theatre, she played Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz”; Polly in the "Three Penny Opera' by Berthold Brecht; and other leads in Norwegian and Swedish musicals like "Så lenge skuta kan gå/ As Long as the Ship Is Running" by Evert Taube. She also performed the role of Otilie in "Sommer i Tyrol/The White Horse” in the National Norweigan tour, as well as the Television show of the same title. Ms. Ekornes has also been featured in “Dangerous Liaisons” at the National Theatre; as Gertie Commings in "Oklahoma" at the Oslo New Theatre; and Constance in "Gjest Baardsen's Last Escape" at The Riks Theatre: the biggest touring company in Norway.

Elisabeth appeared on the radio in Classical Concerts on Norwegian Broadcasting’s Channels 1 and 2. She has the honour of receiving several awards/grants as an exceptional performer, highlighted by Peter Bing Drejer Sundt Award given by the Norwegian Equity for Talented Actors.

Elisabeth was invited to come to the United States as a singer at the Leiv Eriksson Festival in Minneapolis, and the Norsk Hostfest in North Dakota. In the United States, she performed for His Royal Highness, Crown-Prince Haakon, of Norway.
