notes
This Hawaii-born songstress stirs deeply with her words, yet brings a laugh when you least expect it. Her songs take you from new love to abiding faith, from despair to joy and to the buoyant hope of childhood dreams. Elina walks a fragile balance between the soft, laid-back music of her Hawaii childhood and a sharp-focused delivery honed from her years in the competitive L.A. entertainment scene.
Elina’s debut album includes songs about life, love, brokenness and her faith. Some of the songs are “Lucky,” which is a sassy duet about married life by Elina and her husband, Tyrone Wells. They also team up in “Constantly” and “Breathless,” expressing the faith that brought them together.
Tyrone Wells produced Elina’s debut album and co-wrote some of the songs, including “Dream Like New York”, which was a song selected for the end-title and soundtrack of Fox’s recent animated film, “Everyone’s Hero.” This same song that the pair wrote, also moved on to be used for The World Series, Madison Square Garden Commercials and as a standard played at the New York Knicks' home games.
Elina has played at a variety of venues for a wide array of audiences. She has been on staff as a Worship Pastor and Guest Worship Leader for several years at her Fullerton based church, University Praise. She has also led worship or shared her own music at retreats, women's events, church event gatherings and church services throughout the West Coast and her home state of Hawaii. Her vocals and original songs have been featured on "The Longing", "Rain" and "Psalm Series" worship albums.

Goes well with those Neil Diamond days everyone gets.
author: PT RothschildThe production and engineering on this CD are flawless, leading to an enchanting studio performance. Elina has a tender tone, the songs are smooth, well written and several like, Speak To My Heart, Constantly, Las Vegas, and, Dream Like New York, herald this young singer/songwriter as the next music star that should be.

Pure, Organic and Honest...
author: Thomas MoreFrom the beautiful state of Hawaii, Elina's album comes at a time when purety and honesty in music is seldomly seen. Listent to it once and you will enjoy it, listen to it 3 times and you will find yourself in a state of utopia.
Heartfelt, sweetly moving, universal
author: Kalena SneaksHere is a sweet, unpretentious voice that presents moving melodies and touching lyrics for the young. The universal themes and feelings of the songs transcends cultural and physical borders. The notes are lovingly delivered to soothe, comfort and awaken young lovers around the world. This is an up and coming singer whose songs and voice speaks to and for those in love, those who love and those wanting love. If you are one of them, listen to Elina.

i love elina's album. it's a album that is set on repeat in my car. every song is a favorite. there are not too many "female" singers that i enjoy listening to but Elina is one that i really do enjoy. i would highly recommend to purchase the album.
There's soul and sincerity in her vocals — check out "Breathless," "Speak to My
author: Wayne Harada/ The Honolulu AdvertiserElina (her Hawaiian name) might be remembered as Erin Chang, the "Eazy Music" girl from Castle High School, who co-hosted a state Department of Education cable television series. She previously appeared in Ronald Bright musicals at Castle and her early training has paid off handsomely. Her debut CD is an impressive and auspicious one, loaded with originals she wrote, some in collaboration with her husband, Tyrone Wells. There's soul and sincerity in her vocals — check out "Breathless," "Speak to My Heart," "Constantly" and "My Friend" — and Elina has matured with grace and precision. One track, "Dream Like New York," is in the soundtrack of an animated film, "Everyone's Hero," so she's en route to something big. Trivia: She is the sister of Kevin Chang of Kupa'aina, so music's very much a part of the family. Our take: Elina is off and humming; could be a breakout artist if the stars are in her favor.
A little too much sugar, with not enough meat
author: Cameron AkramiElina has put forth an album which has a lot of bubble-gum & poppy sounds, but lacks artistic depth. Perhaps it's the performance, which feels as though she doesn't quite connect with what she's singing. The more moving offerings seem to come up a bit short in the "Sell me on what you're singing" category. The production has some rather obvious home-studio elements, such as midi instrumentation, which diminish the listenability tremendously. She's beautiful, and married to Tyrone Wells (much respect Tyrone), but those things don't help this album. This album is not "unlistenable", but lacks the luster & conviction I'd like to hear from an artist.

“The gentle, sweet voice of Elina rides over whimsical rhythm guitar and sparce percussion. The refreshing pop sound and simplicity of these songs attests the honesty that can still exist in the pop genre.”
- author: CD Review from the Hawaii Star Bulletin (John Berger/Island Mele
“Single-monikered Elina introduces herself with an enchanting debut album. The emotions and experiences she describes transcend gender but will resonate most strongly with women going through the same romantic ups and downs. Men will first be entranced by her voice; it's simultaneously seductive and sweet, but she doesn't sound like she's faking it, a la Britney Spears. The songs cover familiar romantic territory in memorable style. The skyscrapers of New York become the embodiment of unlimited dreams in "Dream Like New York." A self-centered lover is permanently dismissed with devastating style in "I Don't Want To." Elina's husband, producer Tyrone Wells, joins her on "Lucky," a light-hearted but touching portrait of a successful relationship. Wells keeps the arrangements soft and soothing. Acoustic instruments suffice for the most part, a single cello adding darker tones under Elina's guitar. Remaking other artists' hits is always risky, but Elina's reworking of "With or Without You" fits in nicely amid her impressive collection of originals.”
