notes
8BallDown was formed in the fall of 2000 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Sean Neely and lead guitarist Brandon Guitar, in order to write and perform their original songs. Along the way they picked up Lenny Brisart on bass/backup vocals and Chris Blades on drums, and 8BallDown was off to the races, delivering heartfelt lyrics with a soulful sound. Most weekends you will find 8BallDown playing to a packed crowd at various clubs all over Austin and Central Texas. The band regularly contributes its time and music to charity events such as: Fireball (for the children’s burn unit at Shriner’s Hospital), and fundraisers for The Capital City Food Bank. 8BallDown’s self-titled debut album was released in 2002 and was featured on Austin’s KLBJ-FM. In 2003 the band won the Austin area Hard Rock Café’s “Cabo Wabo, Battle of the Bands” and ultimately finished 6th in the nation out of over 300 competing bands. Steve Bozoudes joined the band on drums in 2004 and in 2005 Brandon Guitar was replaced on lead and slide guitar by Jimmy Weiler, solidifying the current lineup with his unique style. 8BallDown continues to pack clubs at every appearance and look forward to meeting many more new friends in the years to come.
