Musically and poetically insightful
author: Tim SmithFunny thing is I was reading the SLC Weekly and came across a review of this CD recently. It was very vague, and only focused on the lyrics in which it gave a very narrow and negative review of. So, me being the rebellious explorer that I am just had to check this out for myself, if nothing else than to laugh it off, but, and a huge but...when I heard the tracks (even in the mp3 format) I was stunned!- The lyrics may be a bit different, but an Artist ought to be different and the lyrics are poetic, sensitive, and thought provoking. Zenn takes the ordinary everyday, and exposes the magic therein. Not to mention the brilliant production and beautiful instrumentation going on. Granted, this album does not seem to be the kind of CD one would play at a dance party, but so what...this is something I would listen to in my car, or at work, etc. This album reminds me of early Velvet Underground, but more sophisticated. Zenn's voice is unique, but sounds kind of like the guy from They Might Be Giants, throw in some Morrissey and early Bowie and Lennon. I hear the Dylan thing too. It depends on the song and what mood, but he is definitely doing his own thing which is what a true artist ought to be doing. I also love the abstract and ambient tapestry of sound sewn through out the moody, but very even tempered CD. I will definitely be buying this one. Just goes to show that you can't believe everything you read, good or bad. But I am glad Cd baby gives the listener a voice on this site, and Zenn was worth my time.
Wonderful Destinations
author: Gina FrenchStrange Destinations, by Mr. Eddy Zenn, is a voyage to many places which are filled up with deep introspection, smart lyrics, and music that touches the soul. These essences are a big part of what makes this album a fine piece of work, along with awesome accompaniment and production coming from Myndie Anjuli and Steve Murdock. Eddy Zenn's voice envelops his well - crafted songs with passion, soulfulness, and mournful longing. Standout tracks, in this reviewer's opinion - I've Never, Look Away, Fade of Echoes,( haunting), Things Simply Fall Apart, Desperate Arpeggio,(excellent picking), and, This Bad Dream. This Cd is a musical journey which is well worth the emotional trip and one that never ends because of its timelessness and excellence.
This Album Drives Great
author: Samual GrahamI enjoy it while driving. It has a very meditative quality. It has a magical essence that allowes one to focus on one thing, while journeying inside, and outside one's spiritual, and tangeable self simultaneously. It's weird. You just have to take the time to listen and find out for yourself. Regardless of the effect it has on you, it is a work of merit. There is sincere and creative music going on here, with lyrical doorways that inspire curiousity.

Taking all hyperbole as a given, this is a fine CD and a worthy addtion to the collection of anyone who appreciates good music and sincere lyricism.
