As if the roles of songwriter, producer, multi-musician, and entrepreneur aren't enough, this young entertainer is best known as the smooth soul singer, E. Bland. With a healthy blend of passion, purpose, faith, and love, his music is a humble expression of SOUL that fits the mold of a true artist.
Largely influenced by the sounds and rhythms of old jazz and soul records from his childhood, E. Bland is a self-taught musician who has been tuning his uncanny ear for music since anyone can remember. He credits his parents as the founders of his musical journey: "They provided the opportunities for me to explore my gifts and create."
Born and raised in Hackensack, New Jersey, he generally kept his musical talent under the shell of being a lifetime athlete. After playing college basketball and receiving his bachelor's degree, Bland turned to his creative side and focused much of his time on songwriting and production. In writing for other artists, however, he realized a voice of his own that would become the tool he used to pursue his career as an artist. It was then that he decided to follow his passion and turn his life over to music.
E. Bland brings a refreshing new dimension to the world of soul music with his unique ability to stir human emotions. Coupled with powerful lyrics and soulful grooves, his silky smooth delivery is a gift that has already touched many around the world. His sound fuses elements of funk, jazz, and R&B to create a unique brand of SOUL music. On stage, he leads his band as its primary keyboard player and has been known to play every instrument on stage at some point during the show. His performances continue to touch countless lives with positive, uplifting music. He has performed throughout the east coast of the U.S. at venues in New York, New Jersey, DC, Maryland, New England and more, while looking to broaden his horizons whenever possible.
E. Bland's debut album "Just Me..." (April 2007) has received rave reviews! With a very fitting title, E. Bland was at the helm of all writing, production and recording. His first musical effort boasts of an immediate international reach, including sales in Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, and more.
His sophomore release "Soulcentric" (August 2008) includes the hit single "Necessary". With an overwhelming response since its release in November 2007, “Necessary” has become a MySpace.com favorite and has been in rotation on Internet, satellite and mainstream radio stations around the world. For his second LP submission, Bland extends beyond his musical genius to collaborate with notable artists of various styles and genres, complimenting the eclectic core of SOUL music.

Pleasantly surprised!

I grew up during a time when artists were creators and painters -- not afraid to wear their emotions on their sleeves and to let the world of music lover judge them, good or bad. I purchased this release not knowing what to expect -- I read the other reviews and they peaked my interest, so I took a chance. I am happy to report that I am glad that I did take the chance. This is a very soulful release and now I am a fan for life! Much to success to this brother. He is an original and an innovator. A groove oriented release -- nice for a get together -- it had everyone asking, Who is that? I hope they, too, take the chance. I am pleased!
"Just Me"
author: A. C.Cool, impressive, multitalented artist able to showcase all of his gifts. This CD is “A true soul revival” (evident on track # 3 “Soul Roots”). This artist knows how to utilize the keyboard and build tracks that appear to be played by a full band (when he is playing all the instruments himself). His vocal ability really shines on track # 14 “Love 101”. He wrote, sang, played, mixed and mastered this CD. “For that reason alone it is worth the purchase price.” Stand out tracks (#’s 3 Soul Roots, 12 Just Me, and 14 Love 101). “This CD is highly recommended!

author: Jasmine ArmstrongThis was a great album. It was a nice mix of soul,a little bit of hip hop, r&b, jazz and a little bit of doo wop. It had some nice smooth ballards and some great upbeat songs. I would reccomend this album for anybody who is a r&b lover.

I just got it in the mail and it is one of my top picks. I love the sound and the soulfulness. It is hard to believe one so young can have such a spirit.
