notes
This recording features the Solene (so-lean), a tubular electric guitar-like instrument played using the two-handed tapping technique. Two-handed tapping allows one to use the fingers of both hands to sound notes on the fingerboard by tapping the strings against the frets. The Solene has seven strings and is made of an aluminum tube three feet in length and three inches in diameter. Slanted, meandering wire frets positioned on the outer surface forms the playing area.
