notes
Jeanette Baird, who has produced countless shows for her house concert series, has this to say about Noah Earle: “I have heard a lot of songwriters over the past 15 years but none have impressed me more than Noah Earle.” On his self-released debut, Six Ways to Sunday, this singer-songwriter displayed unmistakable talent as he explored many stylistic avenues. His first release for MayApple Records, Postcards From Home, finds Earle focusing his songwriting solidly in the Americana vein. To do so, he doesn’t need to use the same tired images and forced symbolism oft abused by so many of his contemporaries – rather, he has at his disposal a childhood worth of experience from his upbringing in Topeka, Kansas - Keystone Light, Channel Cats, Quik Shops. Now residing on a farm in Hallsville, Missouri, he need only step outside to his own garden for earthly inspiration, reaping sentiments like those found in the heart-warming title track. How did he learn to fuse sharp political insight with raw sexuality? We're not sure we want to know. No matter - listen to some samples and you'll hear how Earle is worthy of high praise.
