notes
(The whole City is behind us) More often than not rap groups of three or more MCs usually contain a weak link or two. With Dyme Def that is plainly not the case. Each member supports the other which provides the group with a rare synergy that hasnt been recognized since the golden days of Hip Hop, from groups like; NWA, De La Soul, and the Goodie Mob. Dyme Def is explosive on stage and in mic booths..WATCH OUT!!
The trio hails from Seattle, Washington. Made up of three incomparable elements:one element being Fearce Villain; a seasoned vet, who comes of like he owns the microphone. The confidence that he radiates is bright and it is evident that he is meant for the stage. Although the group works as a team, sharing bars and decisions equally, Fearce Villain is sometimes looked at by others as the businessman of the group. Next is S.E.V., who is no doubt the clean up man. Not because he raps last, or picks up any slack from the other two emcees, but because he is equipped to hit it out of the park every time, a true homerun king. The way he weaves words and manipulates beats is truly amazing, and his voice plays as instrument of its' own. Rounding out the trio is the dude named Brainstorm; the primary beat maker for Dyme Def, and also a golden glove MC. The other two thirds of Dyme agree that they both draw lyrical inspiration from him. Brainstorm has been recognized most recently for winning Red Bulls Beat Battle in Seattle Washington. He is also well known in all arenas of lyrical warfare such as; MC battles, street battles, and on the internet. The group is looking forward to making history and reaching all of their goals. Accomplishments so far include being selected two years in row perform in an exclusive battle of the bands at Seattles Experience Music Project; they also stay very busy performing on the local circuit.
The dynamics that exist between Fearce Villain, S.E.V. and Brainstorm as comrades dates back to grade school. They played together and stayed together. Now after five years of creating music and performing live, these young men are ready for almost anything the music business will bring them. Dyme Def has had a few extremely successful street anthems in the Seattle area. "Breathe Easy,"" Get Down" and," Loose It" all produced by Brainstorm. Also, "Hate Me" produced by BeanOne are all on their way to becoming Northwest Classics. Ultimately Dyme Def has got what it takes: the creativity, the drive, and that urban flare that makes Hip Hop a way of life for them.

Amazing
author: Philip TomsovicThis album is really superb! Not only does this have the appeal to those into mainstream, it remains local and independent, as well as keeping the raw sound of a local production. One of the better rap groups from Seattle.
that's how it should be done.

author: CamA breath of fresh air like you atop mount rainier. No other rap/hip-hop cd in the past years is really even touchin this. Production like non-other from Bean One and catchy juiced up lyrics from the trio make this album a must cop.
This ish is DOPE!
author: meThis cd is off the chain! I cant stop listening to it! Im spaced out! If u like hip hop then cop it! U will NOT be disappointed. For real, the rap game needed somethin new and Dyme Def is fresh2def! If you dont buy this album then u dont like hip hop.
RIDICULOUS BEATS, RHYMES & FLOWS WITH AN EXTRA DOSAGE OF SWAGGER
author: SherpacoThe production is flawless, the flows are impeccable. The only thing keeping this album from being a classic is the lack of diversity in subject matter. The super swagger more than makes up for it though. This album is pure hiphop.
Dyme Def Space Music--Seattle Art
author: MAPLEHOOD MUSIC_Maple St. Media, Pullman, WADyme Def is one of the freshest sounds to come out of the Left Coast in years. They have a personality that is unlike any mcs in the rap game today. Check out songs like Let it be, So good/It's bad, I'm that guy and moving higher you will not be disappointed.
SEATTLE has swagger * I didn't believe it until I heard this
author: CHERnSICLEThe whole album is a single. Dyme Def's only trouble will be figuring out how to attack demographics and radio play with the right song from this four-course LP. Biters better have an empty stomach, because this CD is high in calories. I have no doubt this debut album will only be the beginnings for these posterkids of Seattle rap music. The underground spaceship and BeanOne/Brainstorm are always setting the bar higher so the lyrics have to keep up. COP-A-TELESCOPE!
NEXT LEVEL!!
author: jonnyFinally we have a group of MC's that aren't scared to take Hip-Hop to new heights. Amazing work, check these guys out for years to come.
- author: Brad at CD Baby
While the concept may be spaced out, this trio of MC's from Seattle has its feet planted firmly on the earth, deep in the roots of true hip hop. While many claim to blend the best of old school and new, these cats truly pull it off, creating sounds that owe as much to The Treacherous Three as they do to Clipse or Outkast. Intricately executed and laced with stellar production, the beats are party jams with a jagged edge, materializing in smooth flowing but heavy hitting loops and samples that really accentuate the ever changing feel that the lyricists bring to the table. While a song like "ClapClap" rocks it synth-heavy old school, finding the trio fronting a party vibe while harboring devious ulterior motives, "StriktlyBusiness" maintains a stripped down minimalistic style that is increasingly harsh but equally compelling. The style switch-up on this album is consistent but not distracting, and it really allows the group to shine in different environments, giving them opportunities to feed off each other and push the envelope lyrically. They repeatedly prove that there's not a weak link in the chain as they drop stark, intelligent flows over tracks that will leave the true hip hop heads wanting more.
