notes
This tribute to Fats Waller and nine of the songs he made famous through his inimitable song stylings is undertaken with a roster of jazz artists who played with Waller at various times in his career. His guitarist, Al Casey, is featured as are such modern jazz giants as Zoot Sims, tenor sax; Dick Wellstood, piano; Kenny Davern, clarinet; Major Holley, bass; and Tommy Benford on drums along with vocalist Jane Harvey, who treats these classics with loving style and panache.
This is a joyful vocal jazz outing and it sparkles from beginning to end. You’re in for a treat.
