“When I Had Wings,” based on a whimsical musing of Morey’s five-year-old daughter Emma, is a solo guitar recording consisting of three original compositions and eight cover tunes in a number of genres including pop (Beatles, Randy Newman, Procol Harum), classical (Spanish and Renaissance), and latin jazz (Jobim and original).
About Dunstan Morey:
Dunstan Morey has been playing all kinds of guitars - electric and acoustic - professionally since 1971. He spent many years as both sideman and leader in bands of all descriptions, from classical to country, jazz to pop and playing in venues ranging from black tie dinners to northern bars, from concert halls to Peter Gzowski’s Morningside.
About 10 years ago, Morey committed to playing exclusively on nylon-string guitar, both the standard “classical” guitar and the more modern solid-body nylon-string model.
For the last five years, Morey has been the house guitarist at La Maquette restaurant in Toronto, where he appears four nights a week. In addition, he is very active on the wedding music scene, playing both solo and in duo and trio settings.

We just love Dunstan's style, grace and the ambiance that his music creates. We discovered Dunstan initially on the internet and then went to visit him at the restaurant where he works. There was no turning back after that :) We had Dunstan play at our Wedding at the end of October and I can't say enough how wonderful it was. This album creates a relaxing environment and is very easy to listen to over and over again. I can't say enough to express the abilities of Dunstan and what his music can bring into your home. Thanks Dunstan!

I thought the album was great! It's nice listening to relaxing tunes that are subtle and understated. There's no need for percussion or other accompaniment. Recuerdos de la Alhambra is my all-time favourite - its mournful overtones bring to mind the sadness of war, but it also invokes images of a beautiful Spanish countryside. I can't wait to hear the next CD!
