In his third recording, Gabriel Duffin shares with you his family's experiences of living in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The songs and tunes are all original with his brother, Daniel, and sister, Pauline, having contributed to the lyrics of several of the tracks. Stacey Duffin joins her father singing a children's rope skipping song at the end of the title track.
Share with Gabriel and his family their mother's regular interactions with the local delivery men (Bernie's Blokes); the beauty and closeness of a small Glens of Antrim town (Cushendall); a ballad of Irish hero Michael Collins (The Big Fella); the loss of their brother (Patrick Beau); Pauline's wedding during Internment (Internally Wed); their love for their mother (Wish You Were Here), changes in the street and housing culture of Belfast (Loney Streets - Title track) and Gabriel's emigration to America (Time to Move On). Feel what it was like to grow up in Northern Ireland.
This and his previous album, Back Home to You, were recorded by long time friend and fellow musician, Clive Culbertson in is studio in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

Loney Streets
author: SallyI love the way that cdbaby is so prompt in the shipping of my c.ds and especially the humour about the parade to the post office etc. I had a good chuckle (out loud). Loney street album was teriffic a lot of thought went into the writing of the songs and delivery. I really enjoyed the song about Cushendall since I spent some time there myself with my Uncle Mick who was a bus conductor. I truly enjoyed each and every song even though it pulled at my heart strings and brought back many many memories I play both cds all the time I think I need one for the car and one for home I keep taking them in the house and back out to the car.Truly a very talented family and so proud of their heritage good job Danny, Pauline, Stacey and especially Gabriel. When is the next one coming.
A moving and original album
author: KathyThis album contains so much of the sentimentality, story-telling and heritage that makes Irish music special. With unique and skillfully played accompaniment, the artist amplifies the lyrics with a style that blends country and Celtic. For those who love the art of song and the feeling of days gone by set to some toe tappin' tunes and haunting melodies, this is a must have!
Updated Irish music.
author: Tracy DourSoulful, personal songs based on traditional Irish music. Very enjoyable. Good combination of both original and traditional songs.
