“Remember Christmas”
A CD by Dawn Smith Jordan and Jerry Sims
“Remember Christmas,” a new Christmas CD by Dawn Smith Jordan and Jerry Sims was released on November 8, 2006. This CD is a unique musical offering featuring the vocals of Dawn Smith Jordan, contemporary Christian singer/songwriter/recording artist with Urgent Records, and the guitar talents of the well-known seven-string guitarist, Jerry Sims, owner and manager of Sims Music. Having performed as a part of their home church’s annual Christmas pageant, First Baptist Church of Columbia, SC, for over 15 years, the two began discussing the possibility of recording a Christmas CD a few years ago. Performing duets together during the pageant, the duo received rave reviews from attendees, many of whom requested a recording. The requests continued in the last few years, and thus, the project was born, bringing to fruition a well-rounded musical package of 13 tracks. The title cut, “Remember Christmas,” is an original penned by Dawn and Jerry. Although the mix is a simplistic blend of Jerry’s versatile guitar expertise coupled with Dawn’s stylistic vocals, the project is not without musical flavor. It spans the styles of traditional, gospel, jazz, Latin, a little taste of the blues, and even country. Dawn and Jerry will be promoting this CD as they touring throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia over the Holiday Season.
