Somwhere between Judas Priest and Motorhead lives Matt McCourt's new cd SIN SANDWICH a "Romp through faster pastures" straight from the mouth himself. 'this collection of songs was written entirely on bass as was the original Dr Mastermind cd and emphasizing the faster harder approach
. McCourt plays solid leads as well as bass and vox
Defender of Metal Bryce Van Patten on Drums and
A few guest guitarists make their way onto the disc, Steve Broy, and Heathen Scum Join Matt on Devils Hand featuring a 12 string electric and a great curveball distraction from the nonstop bombast speed metal assault which kicks of the album.
The vocals for the first time in matt's career are in focus and layered sometimes providing a lush platform for the main vocal to soar over. The lyrics are well thought out and storylike(considering this batch of songs took 4 months to produce)
Joining Matt is Kevin Sanders Gargoyle guitarist and once upon a time a primary force in punkrock kings Posion Idea on the revamped BETTER LATE THAN NEVER one of matts trademark lines. That sums up his 25 year career quite well.
Meathook drummer Paul Dreyer Pounds out the double bass on "ALL THE WAY TO WACKEN" about they famous metal fest in Germany. SIN SANDWICH a clever tune
Alluding to the sexual delights of your favorite double decker burger and food fetishes in general. Sent me demo, which was great and had no bass or vocals so I added mine and sent it back he re did the lead and keys and drums and voila a long distance recording like I did with Boris Haranki on the dr mastermind plus live!. Finishing the set is a song from string master Kurt James called Last chance" playing all the instruments himself.
More will be heard in an all inclusive disc of mp3 files that will also include some interactive demos form the first dr m album that have no lead guitar so aspiring shredders

Every album matt reveals a little more of himself or as he puts it-I keep learning, as long as I keep having life experiences, im gonan have songs hopefuilly and if not im tryin to get em all out of me before they dry up-cuz one of these days that's bound to happen- and if theres one thing I've learned, go while the train is running cuz its hard to push start something big enough to move people" these songs are what I felt during the months of march-july 2005 most of them were first takes with Bryce never hearing the demo-if there was one! We got together on Sundays record 1-3 basics and then id work all week on em adding bass and other parts, then repeat the process till we had a bunch of songs
A cycle we've been going in since 20001 when I finished the king of the world cd .(also available here at cd baby.) in addition to sitting in in as many sessions as possible the most recent with Prowler Inc. for their upcoming cd and the mentors'pope scum Church of El Duce albums.Making music is a big part of my everyday life as is video which is soon going to be my focus we will be producing a number of videos for this cd the first 2 will be LIVIN GETS ME DOWN. SIN SANDWICH . matt is working on a stage show that will be a sci fi themed production and include video and some new tricks - a one man show is also on the planning table The focus would be on the lighting special fx
And video, employing a technique seen at the sci fi museum for suspended illumination video. Part magic, part hardware, all matt. And no drums to move-
We believe this cd will put mccourt on the tracks again.

    even the blues number is good but tedious so now thats out of the way... its a great fuckin cd full of speed metal i was hopin to find more of deen castronovo on here but the drumming is what needs to be for a thrashing metal album full speed ahead on most of the cuts,,, sounds like they are goin for motorhead sound which is fine by me the more the merrier and a bassist who sings come on... where does it end- and the cover model aint too shabby either I went to her website and found more pics! she emailed me back! killer deal for the cash!
