notes
Songwriters Lynn Scharf and Charlotte Formichella began collaborating together in 2005 after meeting in Virginia while attending college. Performing as Driftwood Fire in 2007, their song Appalachian Hills won First Place in the 2007 International Narrative Song Competition (and is also being considered for use on PBS’s Road Trip Nation). Their song Georgia Avenue was licensed for use on QuickStar’s nationally distributed ’Chill Out: Acoustic Compilation.’ Both Lynn and Charlotte were top finalists in Denver’s Blue Note 2007 singer/songwriter contest.
The band has now expanded to include folk-rock drummer & percussionist Jennifer "JJ" Jones (Ellis, Edie Carey). JJ is featured on Driftwood Fire’s self-titled EP, with a release date of June 2008.
This tight-playing, crowd-friendly ensemble is selling out 200+ seat venues in the Rocky Mountain Front Range region and gaining fans across the Midwest. Find Driftwood Fire on the web for the latest news and tour schedule.
