AUSTRALIAN AND STILL BLOODY PROUD OF IT .............
This is our second offering in the past 15 months and all 13 tracks were written by us 'The Doyles' from Cairns in beautifull tropical North Queensland, right up the top of Australia.
Where as our previous album 'The Doyles Live' was recorded one night at our resident gig 'Johno's Blues Bar' but with this album we went into Rom Stover's Studio in the rainforest right here in Cairns and recorded it over a few weeks.
Jake my 19 year old son and I, Terry, share the vocals, Jake does all electric guitar parts and also all bass parts while I did all Maton acoustic guitar parts. Drums were played by a young 19 year old mate of Jake's Daniel Ogilvie who is now to be known as Dan Doyle.
The album contains a collection of songs ranging from Chicago Blues type stuff that I've written over the past 9 months as well as some rockier stuff Jake and I have written together. Also there is a bit of reggae with great didgeridoo on 'Couldn't Live Anywhere Else' which I wrote while we were down in Tasmania for a couple of shows at the beginning of 2006, we were missing Cairns and the tropics and the lyrics came very easily.
"Hi, I was at Johno’s Blues Bar this past Feb. and heard you and your son play. You did a song you had recently written about Queensland 'Couldn't Live Anywhere Else' I was hoping it is available on a CD.
I worked in Queensland for 4 months and have had the song stuck in my head ever since leaving Australia. They are great lyrics and capture the essence of Queensland perfectly! I would love a copy of the CD and can't wait to hear "I wouldn't live anywhere else" again.

Such an entertaining album which truly reflects life in the far north!
